As long as you keep designing this “game” for the people that want to make it a career, I’m taking a hard pass.
It’s not fun to brick keys in the last weeks of the season when literally nothing should matter.
It’s not fun to still have gear hills to climb when I want—god forbid–want to play a different class.
It’s not fun when I’m consistently out of SOME kind of currency necessary to upgrade gear and I can’t.
It’s not fun when dungeon after dungeon after dungeon gives no gear.
It’s not fun when the GV choices are basically inconsequential.
The game is not fun anymore.
I’m done.

Most, if not all, of these complaints land squarely in the M+ pile. Wouldn’t say the entire game is designed for people who want to make it a career, but this PVE pillar is certainly aimed at the most competitive nature of players.
I doubt many of these things will be changed drastically.

One character the system I think works ok but when you have alts the valor farming can be tedious
I do agree with that. This is just me, but if I’m “locked” into playing one single character I quickly get bored and want to quit.

When it comes to gear, as long as you can clear +8 keys, you can fully equip in 636 item level. While it does suck to be 3 ilvl under the max, it’s pretty much zero difference. I made a priest alt a few weeks ago and already have 627 ilvl. The crest system and crafting make it super fast and easy to gear and catchup.

You aren’t having fun, so go do something you find fun, be that playing another game or doing a different hobby.
You aren’t married to WOW and you can always come back in S2, S3 or even next xpac.

Improving your character is important, just how this genre works. There is so much more to do in this game though than just farm gear.
If all you focus on is gearing up it is no wonder you’re frustrated. Farm some transmogs, grind some mounts or reps. Go explore or go after lore master. Take a week off from the treadmill.
I don’t know maybe I feel spoiled by delves now. Gear when I want and rely on no one. It has made the game so much more fun.

I never swet for it and yet I am at ilevel 629. I overgeared the EASY dungeons. Why kill myself on a hard dungeon especially with PuGs?
I bleed if I want to bleed. But I am in control. And I am happy with how I am now.
