Think a bigger problem with the game is that 95% specs just want haste verse
With crit nerfed in PvP it devalues the way a lot of specs can play so lower GCD and passive tankiness/extra damage cover how lacklustre everything feels
Sad.
There’s plenty of time. I mean they still can change some items, shouldn’t be a big deal…
… right?
im keen to see how they ruin this
I hope those stats are just placeholders, if not then this is going to be terrible. Wouldn’t surprise me in the least if those stat combos are intended however.
I never thought vendors would be a good faith compromise on their part
ofc this might just be a beta troll but I also wouldn’t be shocked if the game shipped like that
i cant honestly believe that ANYONE believes they’re going to be able to buy a full set of bis gear off of a pvp vendor
while these are obviously placeholders, you will 100% end up with a 3 bad stat combo bracers/cloak/ring ect choice
you have never been able to get a full set of ideal stats off of a pvp vendor
that’s true but set bonuses at least compensated your less optimal stats so it never felt bad wearing PvP gear
that’s why I never hopped on the vendor train bc without an incentive to wear PvP gear it’s just another repair vendor
simple fix: make it so they have no secondary stats and put in a second vendor which sells “affixes” that apply their respective stat combination, so it would be like…
-
buy pvp gear with no secondary stats
-
get (or buy) a scroll that has an affix on it, that would work like an enchant scroll, for example:
…Of the Aurora: haste/versatility
…Of the Peerless: crit/mastery
…Of the Quickblade: crit/versatility
and then change prices to reflect the new affix scrolls, so it would look something like:
iteration 1:
2h weapon with crit/vers
1750 conquest
iteration 2:
2h weapon with no stats
1550 conquest
affix scroll of your choice
200 conquest
=1750 conquest in total still.
this change would not only get rid of a “vendor bloat” argument (no 8 items for each stat combo leading to 80 pages of gear) but also allow you to control what stats you would be getting.
This. Plus there’s going to be 1-3 PvE items that do something special which you will want as well (think Getti, Voodoo totem, Mecha bracers, etc.) So depending on which items have bad stats on the vendors and which items you need that are exclusive to PvE you could potentially be looking at still needing to get half of your gear from PvE to be optimal.
I guess I never felt like having optimal stats was that big of a deal until we had corruption amps. Right now it makes a huge difference, and I feel like every single item needs to be optimized. But if you have a couple items with non ideal stats most expansions, the difference has been minimal, IMO.
The things that usually make a big difference are OP trinkets, or some ridiculous special ability on a weapon that only drops from the last boss of a raid. If we aren’t dealing with something like that, then having crit on my weapon wouldn’t seem like that big of a deal.
Maybe it’s just me but I don’t care if I have time dig through a ton of items to find the one I’m looking for. Not like it’s hard for blizzard to create 20 items and then have every possible stat combination for them, that’s child’s play compared to programming other aspects of the game
Resilience and set/glove bonuses made up for stat variance
just bring back reforging
Don’t worry. Some of our very own forum posters have gotten access to the beta, so they’ll make sure that PvP is fixed.
That’s the type of player customization that curbs endless grinds so no
rofl. good one !
i think we’re going to have both crafted gear and crafted legendaries we can craft with stats we want though so that should fill in a lot of holes
Something I hadn’t thought of. Just depends on how it plays out I guess. The forever WoW pessimist in me anticipates my good vendor gear slots being the same slots as the legendary and crafted items I want. I have given up on underestimating Blizzards ability to play the role of Evil Genie and make something seem good only to find out it’s actually terrible.
