To all those that came before me who I never believed you have my sincerest apology!
Dungeon group kicked me for offering to explain a boss fight. I wasn’t rude, I wasn’t condescending, I wasn’t arrogant (I wasn’t even top dps or anything like that)
We were walking down the hall to the boss and I said “Does anyone not know this boss? I can explain if you need”
You have been removed from the group.
I never ever ever believe people when they claim they get booted for the smallest slight but I now know it’s a real thing! I can’t even be mad, I feel like I have seen a unicorn!
Random is as random comes - people just shut up and go about their way - usually trucking along behind the Tank or the Kamikazi DPS pulling ahead of the Tank.
Dungeon group?
They’re pretty much trivial content. Unless you’re doing mythic+ runs, but I doubt having to pause the run to explain each mechanic to the group would be an efficient use of your time.
So if it was normal / heroic, then that is to be expected.
You did nothing wrong. The disparity is because you explaining it is now a redundant process that can be bypassed with less effort and time simply by popping all your cool downs in one go.
I haven’t seen people get kicked for that, yet. Oh well. Try not to let it get you down. Better luck next time, I always say. You’ll probably never even see those same players again. Hopefully your new group would be less … volatile.
Nothing to be mad about. Just ignore it or laugh it off and go about your day. Thing is if you want to avoid these type of things, just don’t pug anything unfortunately.
I get kicked every week, the last one was two days ago the raid leader said “ewww, you have pvp gear” lol. Welcome to the club OP. The lemonades are on the left side.
I am sorry to hear of it, my mysterious minx. There are many who play who are of the mindset that you must simply push through the content as quickly as possible, and should you offer a word of advice you will be removed. Even if the group itself was at fault.
Do not despair, love. Keep playing and enjoying those groups, the naughty ones are not the majority in my experience.
Everyone has an ego. Some of us has small egos while others may have big egos. While I believe you were trying to helpful, the other group members just so happen to be individuals with larger egos. And by trying to help them, they may have interpreted it as “you suck, you don’t know what your doing” through their own perception of reality based on their ego.
