It doesn’t really make sense for transmog to be locked to armor type anymore. The current shop / store includes an obvious demon hunter cosmetic set that looks pretty damn gnarly, and can be used by literally any class in the entire game. So in other words, you can actually circumvent the armor type system for transmog in the game, if you pay real life money. I don’t think that’s right… I have seen demon hunters and death knights both using this new set…
So yeah, if there’s a literal demon hunter set, and any class can wear it, why can’t my Mage use a Paladin set now?

Hell yeah, PREACH BABY!!!
I’ve been asking for this for a while now.
If we can fight naked there’s zero reason why we can’t mog into all armor types.
Not even going into all the cosmetics in this game as of now, with numbers going up.

I disagree.
The restrictions help with class identity and theming. Sure we are getting more armor neutral stuff but I don’t want to see rogues running around in warrior tier look alike sets and other nonsense like that.
Idk if I’m alone on this hill but it’s where I’ll sit.

Does it actually say in the description “Made specifically for Demon Hunter only”?
If not its a random leather set any leather wearer can use

It literally says it’s ‘DREADLORD’S REGALIA’. Don’t be so pedantic, dude. Cmon. You’re better than that
lol but its ok for that to happen if we pay <insert $ amount here>? lol!

Dread lords aren’t demon hunters. In fact we fight against dread lords constantly. I would sooner equate them to warlocks.
Link me the cash shop sets that are tier look alike sets that any armor type can wear. Because currently there isn’t any.

And my lowbie BM Hunter is using “Flowing water” does that mean he has to be a resto shaman? or a water elemental?

A lot of tier sets don’t even look like the armor type they are supposed to be, or look like some hybrid. If anything should remain limited it’s gray armor.
I think they should give every class two armor types. cloth and leather wearers should get cloth and leather. Mail should get leather and mail. Plate should get mail and plate. Those would kinda fit with how many classes used too start with the lower armor type.

I agree I don’t really want to see a mage wearing plate armor. Just a bad look for the game in general. And it doesn’t make sense

Also lore wise… we’ve had battle Mages and the like forever in WoW. Not even talking named NPCs, unnamed NPC units break the Class mog rule CONSTANTLY. Look at any class trainer before Legion, at the NPC follower units, etc.

If there was distinction between appearances any more I would agree with you. So many sets don’t look at all like leather or cloth.
If I can dress like a yeti, I should be able to wear mail armor, too.

You can already put together mage transmog sets that might as well be plate armor in their looks. Not to mention you can have them wearing witch doctor tattoos and bone armor, you can have them wearing love girl outfits, you can give them flying leather pilot outfits, etc.
The notion that anything is ‘traditional’ in its appearances has gone out with the bath water. I can make my hunter and my monk look identical. I can also make my warrior look like them. Oh, and i can put them all in robes, too. If I want.
I agree that tier sets shouldn’t be shared, if anyone had said that above, that’s literally class specific, but armor type looks to certain classes is just a relic, and archaeology is (points either side of the stage) that way.

Not quite. TWW is going to open the ability for any character to learn any armor class mog but not to transmog it.

yeee ofc not class mogs those will always be exclusive, just armor type anyway and weps
No, I mean as my pally, if I find cloth robes in the open world that I don’t have saved to my wardrobe, I can save that on my pally. But I cannot transmog it because it’s cloth.

OH lol yea unless its what cosmetic rn you cant mog it, blizz takes time to get things done as youre more than aware but if they dont make warglaives moggable for anyone that can equip them im goin to honestly spam forums about it
Theres too much cross over.
ive posted in here 100 times showing cloth that looks like plate…and plate that looks like cloth.
Its absurd to keep the mogging restrictions up anymore.
And the ‘muh immersion’ joke is just that.
If someone has so much time on their hands that you can sit around comparing what class someone is to how their mogs look like the armor type they wear, son they got WAAAAY too much time on their hands, lmao.
Add in what I said above, we have way too much crossover for the restriction on mogging to even be a thing today…restrictions should have been removed years ago.
