Having an issue initiating a server transfer.
Getting the “An error was encountered. Please come back later”
Are you getting that during the purchase process or at another stage?
Also, is this for Classic or Retail?

This is for Classic TBC. Stops at the purchase process. It allows me to transfer my alt. I confirmed that I have no mail, pending auction bids etc
Next thing I’d suggest then is to try a completely different browser like Firefox/Chrome/Edge/etc. See if that makes a difference.

It says “Available for purchase in game”
It looks like your character may be an Arena Captain. Try passing leadership off so you no longer are. Then try the transfer again.
The WOW team is working on getting clearer messaging up into the shop, but needed to have this error occur to prevent characters from getting stuck in the transfer if they weren’t eligible.
