Isnt WoW WELL past surprise server shutdowns without notice or without explination?

Blizzard has been doing this for a LONG TIME now. Kneejerk server breakage would be more understandable 15 years ago, but today?

Worse yet, In Game, The Launcher, The Forums and @BlizzCS on Twitter lack any information. If it wasn’t bad enough that Blizzard is shutting down the servers without notice, they aren’t giving us any information despite the NUMEROUS channels in place to tell us whats going on.

Why are any of these things a thing with how mature the game is these days?

I didn’t know you could use emoji’s :o, that’s good to know

They are fixing and maintaining your game for you… I’ve never understood this. Imagine you paying your taxes and the town/state you live in go out and are fixing the roads so your tire doesnt pop on the giant holes in the road, would you be angry they are making an effort with your taxpaying money to fix the problem? Its the exact same situation here. Go hug your kids or eat some food, take a shower drink water and relax…

You sure? Because there was something posted yesterday, on Twitter, about this maint.

“Transparency is the worst policy” - Probably and acti-blizz exec idk

I don’t disagree except you get notified of that. When they’re doing road work, you’ll usually have signs, sometimes a month in advance letting drivers know the road will be closed during certain times and dates for construction. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to get some notice that the game will be down more than 15 minutes in advance. Relatedly, at least some notice as to what the hell they’re even going down for would be helpful. Prepatch? Fixing new bugs with ZG and other gauntlets? Something totally unrelated? Anyone’s guess at this point.

Ok, I can agree with this statement as well but I do think they posted about it yesterday as someone in the thread just said. Besides you do get server warning as well I know its only 15min prior to shutdown. And those of us who dont use social media(me including) do get the “left in the dark feeling”

EDIT **Now see here! I like this guy well organized and thought out comment why cant the OP speak like this instead of the entitled nonsense we always see?

You would think so, right?

Answering the question is pointless? Try again.

The answer is no. He knew that before he posted this thread asking a question he already knew the answer to because the evidence was right in front of him. It’s frankly weird and unrealistic that he thought crashing would never happen in a game that’s in constant development.

So yeah. Thread isn’t valid. Nothing to discuss. Have a good one.

Google rhetoric. Also, it isn’t a crash. It’s scheduled maintenance that had poor communication regarding extensions. You need to install a DBM module for literacy.

inb4 another bigmad, albiet pointless, reply

Inafter fake laughs and trying way too hard.

Anyway, Yeah, “literacy” is the issue. That’s what it is. Perhaps you should install a DBM module for conduct.

Do you need to google to figure out who asked or whether you should ask questions you don’t want an answer to?

I took it as trolling or joking. If its trolling, the golden rule applies. DONT FEED THE TROLLS.

This is the result of blizzard adding in paid server transferring services. Along with many other issues that have arisen, I created a forum post highlighting this issue here and how blizz can step to to fix the issue. Suggestions to Fix the server Imbalance - WoW Classic / Burning Crusade Classic Discussion - World of Warcraft Forums (blizzard.com)

Very valid point. The big issue, from my perspective, was how poorly it was communicated. There is (and was) a post on an obscure page with much lower traffic than social media channels or in-game/client messages. I think OP missed said communication, in no small part due to how it was handled.

For conduct? Literacy again, imo. Try reading your first reply, homeslice. If your attitude didn’t smell like a barn I wouldn’t’ve taken the time to reply in the first place. Check yourself, princess.
