You guys looking forward to doing those dailies again? There were the ten on the Island, a couple in Blades Edge, and some in Shadowmoon Valley. I remember doing these to get rep for my alchemist for a trinket.
In retail, I can get all ten of the island ones done in about 30 minutes. When TBC was current, it took a lot longer because you had to wait for respawns…didn’t share kills like now.
Honestly never really enjoyed it. I remember grinding to max rep because I wanted the Shattered Sun Tabard. Lots of griefing used to take place there and it felt like a chore. We’ll see how I feel about things this time around.
From what I remember, it was fun with a group of friends on vent, and miserable solo. I had a special fast wand I used just for tagging stuff out there, and my melee friends loved me for it.
The island was camped for the first week or 2, if memory serves. All you’d see were corpses all over. It was kinda great if you were in the mood for WPvP.
Personally, I think dailies are the worst thing about TBC. They aren’t remotely fun and will be a nightmare to complete without some form increased spawn rates or layering.
I liked dailies in TBC. It was a good way to farm gold, and I find doing quests to farm gold to be more fun than just mindlessly killing mobs or herbing/mining, which are the only options available currently in vanilla.
The Quel quests don’t come out until the last phase, though, I think. And if I remember, the dailies before that were pretty limited in number.
As a holy paladin, it was damn near impossible solo. As ret, with decent gear, it was more than manageable once you’re geared up some. If someone requested to buddy up, I rarely turned thar down, however.
