First, I love wow. Been playing since 2005. The lore was simpler, hinting at greater powers at work but really it was horde v alliance. Orcs and dragons, dungeons and quests and loot. Throw in a social dynamic and wow exploded. Quest if u want. Fish if u want. Raid if u want. Explore. Pvp. Everything u did benefited u somehow. Now it’s grind torghast, throw a timer on dungeons. Now we are fighting God’s of the dead realm. Titans and titan++. The story makes so little sense. No more horde v alliance, who has time to fish? I ran brd and spent a lot of time in there getting blacksmithing stuff. Hours and hours. Who has time for that now? Gotta grind my soul ash, valor, conquest. Anima. Gotta grind my reknown. Gotta make sure my vault has something to pray is worth while. More often it’s garbage I take straight to a vendor. I have three 60s. I want to get a fourth but I can’t grind no more. I can’t do torghast no more. Raiding is a chore, m+ is a chore. Thank God for pvp this xpac. The one area I thought they would butcher like legion and bfa and its super fun.
Sylvanascraft is really boring. Can she die for a fou… Fifth time? Between pvp and Sylvie dying I might actually keep going this xpac…everything else seems like a job.
To me it seems it’s built for a different generation of gamers…I have no idea who they are tho, everyone I know quit.
Going back to a simpler story would be cool. Dungeons and dragons, the normal fantasy stuff.
Maybe that’s the plan after we return to Azeroth 
depends on if youre a veteran player or a first time player
WoW been killing itself for awhile now. I don’t think they have a direction to go at the moment hence why Ion’s forumla hasn’t changed much.

Yes its sad. My hopes for future fantasy stuff were whatever u do it’s fun enjoyable and doesn’t seem like a chore. I’d pick herbs for Hours queuing for bgs on a Friday evening. Make cash and enjoy pvp. Cant do that now. That’s time wasted not grinding ash and valor and co quest and anima and reknown and if that ain’t bad enough ions doubling down on this stuff in s2. I’m praying we kill Sylvie.
Take a month off champ or come back later for 9.1 and see if you’re still burnt out. I don’t know what is going on at their office in Anaheim but it appears everything gets done at a snails pace. Maybe the bigwigs should actually hire people instead of firing more if development is struggling to meet deadlines.

Yep I’m taking a few weeks off. Maybe a month. I just wish the story wasn’t so FD up. It’s so far off the wow tracks I can’t even explain. I mean I’m expecting some Blizz exec to issue a statement apologizing to subscribers saying “sorry we had a other pandemic here at Blizz where all the writers had concusions and were abusing bathsalts.”

WoW has gotten stale. Let’s face it, most of us are just waiting on something else to pull our attention away. Personally, I am waiting for d4.
lmao I feel ya but I think it’s important to recognize that the current writers are running out of established stories and characters in Warcraft so I don’t necessarily mind new lore, it’s just that every question we have about events, characters, and the laws of nature in the Warcraft universe all have multiple answers because we get different answers everytime we ask or read about it.
I just imagine this is how they come up with the next story arc for each expansion at this point

I think they were hoping to get some ‘Lich King’ kind of traction with Sylvanas but it’s been horrible story line since she burnt down the World Tree. I can’t stand her.

Yeah after she became leader of forsaken it started to go downhill for me. She didn’t want to be raised as a banshee she wanted to die. But she’s undead now… So all of sudden she’s like “what a crappy hand I’ve been dealt… Oh well… When you are given lemons make lemonade!”
