Is World of Warcraft a game for old farts?

I don’t think so. Much of what is done now is too close to more modern monetized mobilized game play than p&p-rpg->mmorpg players (the farts of the old) would be interested in.

1 Yuan > 1 Uighur to Blizzard

Mostly. New generation gamers aren’t really into MMORPGs. And if they are, they’re not going to play a 16 year old one.

This is the issue. Blizz is trying to cater to new gen gamers with all of the changes, while alienating the old gen. And the new gen isn’t biting, while the old gen is leaving.

Good grief, I have a nephew that is 53 years old. I guess “old fart” would be an understatement in my case.

“old farts” is something an old fart would say. If you wanna seem hip and cool, call em boomers. Or coomers. Either or.

I’m 28, glad I got a little under two more years til I’m old I guess D:

Its a game for a lot of types?

I’m old and I occasionally let out some gas. Yes, I’m admitting I let out gas. I must not be the only one?

I’m old and I occasionally complain about the price of gas. Does that count?

Ultima Online is for us older people. Back when risk was real.

23 here, started playing when I was 10 or so, still enjoying it at my age!

its almost 20 years old. Most players have been playing since they were younger audience. Short of the movie 5 years ago there has been nothing done to pull in new audiences or generate interest in the franchise again.

I remember the days when you had to talk sweet nothing to your PIII!

Uh oh, I’m 61 and female, guess I better get off of here and go purchase my headstone.

All the teenagers grew up playing WoW and now they are all 30.

I started with Vanilla… I turned 49 yesterday lol. I do feel like an old fart most of the time, but I still love gaming <3

I was (I think) 28 when I started playing. I’d played EQ in my early 20s for a few months (on one hand I loved it and on the other I couldn’t solo, couldn’t play at times to get groups, and couldn’t countenance losing 4 hours hard ground XP when my connection took a crap on a group of mobs, always killing me.

Most of my friends who got me started were still in college, so real early 20’s. Overwhelmingly they quit one by one (or more accurately couple by couple). I imagine most people playing now have been playing a long time (10+ years on average) so they’re going to be older.

I’m trying to get my future step-kids into the game. They like Roblox and Genshin Impact so I’m not sure what I’m facing. Need to do up some extra gaming PCs before I even try, can’t run this on a tablet.
