I looked up how to twink a hunter for level 19, in TBC. Much of the BiS gear was stuff that only would be possible if you had serious patient high level help (like how are you supposed to be honored with Timbermaw at 19th level anyway?). Then I started thinking, is it really even necessary. I mean, if you go into WSG at 19 and you have above average gear, is that good enough or will you still be cannon fodder for twinks?
Twinking sucks at 19 dude. You should pick 59 or 69 instead. Thereâs not a lot of gear you need to be competitive. âTwinkingâ is mostly just grabbing an enchant or two at that point. Itâs way more fun. Itâs way more competitive. 19 twinking is ridiculous.
I was just thinking of having some pvp fun without investing a ton of time into getting primo gear. Getting a new toon to 59 is a serious investment by itself.
Yeah I feel you. In my opinion you need to twink pretty hard to not get rolled by twinks at 19. The lower you get the more advantaged the twinks are because the enchants scale to more and more ridiculous heights at lower and lower levels and also as you noticed some of the gear is kind of hard to get without help.
Youâll get absolutely destroyed.
I have a 19 rogue with BiS gear and I one-shot regular levelers, and it takes me a handful of seconds to 100-0 someone with good gear for their level but not twinking it out.
Also, honestly the 19 bracket is just kind of toxic. I remember when I was first starting out and I wanted to start grinding rep a bit early I hopped into a WSG at level 17. Most of the gear I wanted to wear, and already had waiting in my bags, required level 19 so while my gear at level 17 wasnât amazing it was by far above what you would expect a ânormalâ level 17 to have (I even put fairly costly enchants on this gear I knew I would be replacing so I wouldnât be a detriment). And I got in and got called an Alliance spy and told to leave and go level before joining again.
Itâs also a lot of gold investment. Like I mentioned even for my subpar gear at level 17 I probably spent about 500g enchanting and buying gear just so I could somewhat compete. In total I spent about 8k gold getting full BiS (half of this buying a naxx enchant on my shoulders).
The barrier of entry for 19âs is just so high itâs not worth it unless you plan on investing a significant amount of time and hold into it.
Part of the appeal to twinking is the adventure of getting your twink as powerful as possible. Not just the pvp.
Thatâs because itâs a cesspool of wannabe PvP stars.
You may find that when same side PvP is enabled you can chose any tier(29, 39, 49 etc) to pvp twinked. Games will be happening. Not sure if you can anymore, but it use to be fun to use dungeons and quests from x0-x6 level then pvp from x7-x9 for xp.
If your class has good utility you can be effective even with medium gear
Druids spamming roots, priests healing and dispelling, mages polying and frostbolting etc
A hunter would do absolutely fine with mediocre gear in most 19 WSG matches. The range alone gives you a massive edge, one you can use against melee to pick them off, or to get away from actual twink hunters/locks on the enemy team.
You go up to the northern furbolg camp in Felwood as a ghost, or any of the Winterspring camps as a ghost, while in a group and near someone else whoâs killing them.
Honestly though, 39+ is where twinking is actually fun imo. 19 + 29 is fine for some folks, but having access to some of your classes actual skills, having decent level professions, and having a mount are all drastically a better play experience.
Not one bit.
Quest gear is more than fine. Crafted as well.
Anything outside of that is gravy.
Youâll outlevel things soon enough. You can wear a gear piece that is 8 levels lower than you and it will still be fine. Donât sweat it.
Queuing for low level BGs can be quite miserable. Things seem to calm down after you cross the level 30 mark.
I doubt anyone in this thread twinks or had a ton of experience in the 19 bracket. Itâs a great bracket for pugging and arenas. Short que times and itâs not that expensive. Most rogues run double fiery for example. Get a leg kit and the bis quest/dungeon items and enchant them. A 300g leg kit and youâre done. You donât need naxx enchants to compete.
Other classes can be pricy for 22 int, 30 sp etc and only FCs need the furblog rep. You could have a good 19 twink rogue done in a week for 1k gold or less.
If anyone puts serious effort into their twink you will get wrecked by them of they can touch you. Theyâll have double your health and hit you for half of yours.
You donât need anyoneâs help to get Twinkies out. Roll your Twink on a 2nd account and your main on your first account does all the work.
I never understood twinking, It seems like it would get boring so fast, like playing with cheat codes. Pvp Is fun because you outplay people.
any twinking under level 49 is a waist⌠EVERYBODY has a twink its boring.
If you are a real pvper wouldnât you want everyone twinked out so it is skill vs skill instead of gear vs gear?
I am playing in the 29 bracket these days and the twinkage seems to be less prevalent than in Classic.
If youâre a good player that knows how to use your CC and can focus on objectives, then you can be an asset.
Twinking is not mandatory.
if your twinking you trying to be better for the advantage over others⌠this is why people twink in the first place.
skill vs skill is more wpvp and arenas
