In the short story, A Whisper of Warning, Turalyon says he was in Silverpor- I mean Silvermoon City to “consult” with Liadrin. It makes sense that Turalyon would cheat on Alleria since she’s infused with the void while Turalyon is infused with the light.
When and how long has this affair has been going on between Turalyon and Liadrin?

Desperation. Horde players are angry that Orgrimmar got sieged twice and they desperately want to besiege Stormwind for a change, and since Turalyon currently rules Stormwind, they want Turalyon to be a villain so that they can have a reason to raid Stormwind.
But that will never, ever, happen. You will never raid Stormwind. 
I think it’s more comparable to The Flavor of Love.
