As others have stated this season is rather good compared to what was happening in BFA atleast from a personal view. Whole expac was complete misery but I’m a bit biased haha (quit for 4 years cause of it) but narrowing it down to a specific season I’d say s1 of BFA. Spamming kings rest to get a better version of the 2 hander constantly wasn’t fun and warr as a whole wasn’t all to great during that period.
I did KR like 15 before I got a Gettiku.
Saw 2 raptors drop lol.
Awful.
Im glad someone else said it. In wod we put a few thousand games in each season because it was just that fun. Never did that since.
Thanks man lol.
any expansion with the “take the player, not the class” mentality regarding class design is the worst expac ever in terms of PvP, TWW is pretty fun but gets stale quick due to the hyper-homogenization we have going on
having no RNG whatsoever makes it even more stale, give me something to react to ffs
Warrior was good, triangle caster was just easier.
I remember getting a trinket with a 90sec CD that gave me a shield for my entire health bar
i guess guys were not playing with the 60 sec sap and polimorph !
Been doing pvp pretty much every expansion since vanilla, I lost enthusiasm starting in Dragonflight for pvp but have actually been enjoying it a little more this expansion. Dipped my toes into rated though and between the queue times and the gamble that is blitz I mostly stick to just doing casual pvp though (wpvp/rbgs ect)
Was watching BFA to see how pvp was then and it looked like every ability did 40% of someone’s HP.
Bfa was the worst imo. Most of the expac was Rsham Lock X, Corruption taking over the game or PVE OP gear. Dps out healed healers who didnt press healing spells.
Shadowlands burst I feel like was much much worse. Dieing to a MM in season 1 with double tap Aimed shot out of stealth or getting one tapped by a DH simply using The Hunt on you. Or the Rogue kyrian ability just insta killing you in a cheap shot, Warrior spear just nuking all of your HP and you can’t even get out of it. Yea Shadowlands burst was dumb and I never want to go back to that.
BFA was like the opposite of Shadowlands in the fact that Damp was wayyyy too much. I think in Dragonflight they ended up finding a decent balance (minus DH death sweep critting for 90% of your HP pool). And it seems much more balanced now between damp and burst. They have some outlier classes still that need tuning and they really need to focus on PvP tuning more before 11.1 but overall ever since DF I feel like damage versus healing has just been getting better.
you recall incorrectly, hpal dominated all healers because CDR (Cooldown Reduction) corruption impacted holy paladin stupidly well. It was mage/destrolock (with hasted corruption)/hpal meta.
I believe Corruption can be an amazing system if done right with the whole risk reward thing. Add the vendor from the start, make acquiring it less of a chore and balance it properly.
Corruption would have been a good system if they didn’t screw it up and focus strictly on the PvE aspect. Some Corruptions were just so far beyond better than others and it became another cookie cutter forced pick option. And the lotto aspect of it was trash because if you didn’t have the best corruptions you were screwed against someone who just got extreme RNG luck.
agreed, thats why it became much better once they added the vendor. Though not a fan of the visions grind for the currency.
At the end of the day I am missing some of the variation they added to pvp through weird onuse trinkets, etc. It detracts from the pure pvp gameplay true but the change of pace and novelty add to the experience
WoD to BoA, DF/TWW
SL was a breath of fresh air for bit until you wanted to change specs
