Is this article still the correct information?

Specifically this last part

Restoration Requests

If a loss of in-game property occurred in World of Warcraft as the result of the bug you are reporting, please submit a ticket to request restoration.

Logging in today I’ve lost all demonic customizations I had from glyphs and from orb of fel temptress, and as the orb is infuriatingly annoying to farm, I’d like to hope this is a bug (as been reported multiple times in bug report forums and in game bug tickets already)

And if that article information is correct, would mean we just need to submit a ticket to have some or all of these customizations restored?

Not sure if this will apply, but did you check the barber shop? I think some of these customizations may have been put there with the patch.

  • WARLOCK
    • Nightmare has been redesigned – Now increases the amount of damage required to break your fear effects by 60%.
    • Demon customizations are now available in the Barbershop after learning the Grimoire.
      • Developers’ note: Sayaad and Infernal customizations will be available in a later PTR build.

These are locked in barber shop when I had them applied last night before patch. I assumed it would be like druids when their forms got moved to barber shop and their unlocked forms carried over.

However unlocked customizations from pre-patch are locked in barbershop as of today’s post patch.

Hence asking if that last part of the article is correct and accurate. I see it was updated 3 weeks ago so it should still apply I think?

Only weapon forms were carried over. Once the glyphs are wiped from the spells, the game doesn’t know you have them. That’s why I had to buy the dolphin glyph again, etc.

I’m not arguing that happened to you, but there are several druids in that other thread that have confirmed theirs unlocked and carried over.

Either way

“If a loss of in-game property occurred in World of Warcraft as the result of the bug you are reporting, please submit a ticket to request restoration.”

This part is what I am trying to clarify especially in regard to “orb of fel temptress”

Yes, their weapon were.

I honestly don’t see how the game could know what glyph you had on what spell when those were all wiped out prior to you logging in. But perhaps things have changed since then.

You can always try a ticket. But I don’t think we can guarantee what response you’ll receive.

You should put in a bug report, most definately. If a bug is verified by the developers, and if they develope a policy that allows GM staff to restore the items, then it’s possible. Unless the developers can directly restore the items. It’s hard to give absolutes, and this is a player discussion forum primarily. A mod may be able to clarify if possible.

Generally speaking, that applies to an item that is lost due to a bug, (i.e. Your sword disappears due to a known issue that is documented), it isn’t exactly the same thing as the item itself was used some time ago, but you are missing something that item previously provided.

Our ability to restore an item tends to require us being able to verify you had it, which I don’t know if that is possible in this situation.

I have made an inquiry though on this particular issue though and will provide an update as soon as I hear back.

I can provide screenshots of my character with said demon in their form including the name the demon had when under the orb of fel temptress (Her fel name was Nimantia, her standard name is Hesora)

But I thank you Vrakthris for looking into clarifying this for us warlocks who spent many hours farming the orb(s).

Generally speaking screenshots are not used for restoration verification. Appreciate it though.

Glad too.

I have already heard back and unfortunately, it seems this isn’t considered a bug but a change in how the customization works. If you still had the item it would have been changed with this patch and allowed you to unlock those customizations.

The best I can recommend is to post in the Warlock forum with any constructive feedback you may have. The Game Developers are usually on the lookout for feedback/reports from content changes after a big patch. While I can’t guarantee anything will come of it, that it isn’t unheard of either.

Thanks for the information.

Nothing else to be done except to keep in mind going forward that Blizzard can and will wipe your progress and hard work at any given patch as they deem fit apparently and nothing is safe.
