This is why BG Blitz won’t be successful. BGs have never been balanced.

I think that the mode is fun, but there’ll be too much emphasis on objective cheesing that’ll obviously favor certain non-brawling specs which…will quickly make things unfun.

I love bgs, but this is why i have always felt that 3v3 arena is the most fair gamemode.
It’s the most controllable.
Limited objective (deathmatch) is always easiest to “balance”.

That’s because Arena has got in the way. PvP should be balanced around BGs and objective based PvP. It only makes sense since the majority of PvP players don’t do Arena.
It’s going to be insanely successful. PvPers have been wanting this for ages.

Just wonder what Blizzards approach to balance will be. Although I’ve only done a small amount of PvP recently after a long break… Healers with/without damp are entirely different animals.
Balancing a class like hunters for BGs/arenas seem impossible. Played a smidge of MM in SL/DF, it doesn’t take long to realize it’s so different it feels like two different games not two different PvP formats.
Do they shift towards BG balance? That might be really aweful for some specs that primarily play arena. Could be amazing for some specs on the flip side.
There will be hype. Let’s see if it falls off in a couple months.
Dampening shouldn’t be in the game. It was a temporary mechanic that came after the crowd chooses you.
Hopefully buff anyone that is under represented and balance around the 3 Class roles.
This is an MMO and PvP should of always been balanced around large scale battles, BGs.
There is a lot of hype because most PvPers don’t enjoy Arena and been wanting more obective based PvP because it’s an MMO. Also I believe that this will entice PvE players as this is something more suited for them which could lead to very high participation.
Overall a good thing for PvP to get more players feet wet.
Whether it falls off depends on how fast they fix bugs, issues and balance.
Honestly I really liked bgb, only played up to about 1700 to try it out in prepatch and it was a lot of fun when you got a team of atleast a few ppl that would pay attention to efc or carts in silvershard
How do you know that to be true? I’m not saying your wrong, just wondering if you seen any real data, surveys ect. or is this just what you come across in your own circles?
The people I know that dislike arena dislike PvP in general, that’s fairly common. They don’t tend to dislike any format more than another to a large degree, that’s just the player circles I’ve been around/in. People that don’t PvP just don’t PvP.
I’ve heard more complaints about PvP being super toxic than anything else, maybe more than all other issues combined including game balance. Reading these forums tells you all you need to know about it, only in game it gets worse, heat of the moment stuff. People shy away when they get destroyed for a mistake, a mistake any learning/less experienced player can easily make.
I’m sure there are players out there that match your description, just not convinced it’s most PvPers as you’ve described. Maybe it is?
I hope you’re right, and it brings in more players, that would be a good thing for PvP in general. More players in any area of the game = more dev attention.
Spot on. People who don’t pvp aren’t going to suddenly fall in love with rated Blitz.
Now there is a large portion of Bg only andies that have wanted a solo q since the dawn of time, the only question is will this group stick around and thrive or will the degenerate gameplay and blatant class imbalances drive em back to unrated as it did for arena.

Hard to do in an mmo when there’s a million and one things going on.
Objective based game play might be one of those things you think you want, in reality you don’t. Getting people to work on the same strategy will be more stressful when there are more people and the object isn’t to kill someone.
