Hello! I haven’t ever really left a forum topic before so apologies if I do this wrong.
A player in game was a friend of mine. I wanted a race change and they gave it to me as a gift, which I enjoyed! I knew them for a while and it even went off platform to other social media such as discord. At a point they stated they felt like they weren’t getting enough attention from me, so they mentioned doxxing me. I left a report on the matter after trying to address the situation with them which went poorly. They went on to say many concerning inappropriate things about women that seem offensive / discrimatory. For a week he nonstop died on top of my character and would follow it saying inappropriate things. After this , the most contact I had with them was if I saw what looked like a female he was going to give a gift to, i’d give them a heads up on the situation hoping to help them avoid the situation I went through. He didn’t like it, and approached me in game and used a trial account with my real first and last name attached to it. I asked them to please delete it which they would not do. He said a lot of things about me that seemed really immature and inappropriate, and I can not go in the game without him going on top of my character and insulting me. Even when I block them they still follow my character. I love this game a lot, and am really concerned. I originally let him have my social media information hoping we could grow our friendship in the community, and definitely did not intend for it to be spread throughout the game nonstop. I have tried asking him to stop and brought up the rules regarding names, along with information leaks. He is threatening to leak more information and to force a Gm to ban me and using many scare tactics. Was me asking my friend for a race change against the rules at all? I dont know if threatning to ban me is leginimate or if he is using it as a scare tactic to keep me from contacting anyone. Either way, I don’t really know where to go. I left a ticket and it says opened, there hasn’t been a response yet. I have been playing this game since I was a kid, and am a loyal customer and hopefully will continue to be. I’m just scared to go on the game because of said player and scared that they will continue to use information given to try more drastic actions that exceed the game.
yeah, that’s very bad. If it was done ingame, You’d wanna report that as a threat.
As for the language, right click and report that too.
What you ALSO need to be doing is ceasing ANY interaction with him. Put him on ignore. If he comes back with another toons to whisper you, submit a ticket for continuing harrassment.
If they are using personal information, making threats, etc… that absolutely can be reported.
Please submit a ticket using Doxxing/Personal info leak.
Provide what details you can on the character you mentioned, as well as any of their characters that may have mentioned leaking info or did so.
For other behavior, definitely place the person on ignore and report any additional contact as Ongoing harassment, which can be found under Report a Player > Ongoing Harassment.
Inappropriate language is absolutely something to report via right-click report.
Do you mean the character name was your name or the name on the account was your name?
I haven’t finished reading your post yet, but it’s pretty evident you don’t have this player on ignore. That’s definitely your first step! Put them on ignore and don’t respond to anything from them in any way.
Report an ongoing harassment
Once they’re on ignore, report any and all of their attempts to bypass ignore. Do not reply to them at all, just put them on ignore again and report them.
They won’t be able to get your account banned either. They’re clearly trying to get to you and the best course of action is to simply leave them on ignore.
As Vrak just mentioned too, absolutely report the Doxxing. Blizz doesn’t find that stuff funny either.
I’ll be sure to put them on ignore once I hop online! I’ve been a tad scared to even go in the game, he’s always in the same spot in the middle of the main city.
Also as for the character name, him and his friend made a trial account with my first and last name, then pointed at me and pointed at it repeitively in front of all players in the capital city. Originally we started going back and forth fighting with links of conversations, I ended up stopping early in after a bnet friend of mine told me to some good advice to ignore them , leave the city and go on blizzard to make a report. He would say things about god not loving women in front of me etc and overall it was really hurtful and just felt immature and uncalled for. This all started because he seemed to want a relationship with me, and he is thirty while I am ninteen and I didn’t really consent or want anything along those lines, so he called me inappropriate names in game. It’s been quite a mess and i’ve been too nervous to report it for a month or two, but it happened all over again last night and it’s become unbearable to play the game now.

I left a ticket and purchased a faction change / ignored the player. Hopefully I won’t have to deal with them anymore and the issue will be resolved. Thank you so much for your help, I will keep an eye out for a response on the ticket! Definitely helpful.
