I still use mine.
AH, bank, mail, and void storage in a small area where I don’t have to worry about 20 people and/or their ginormous mounts that they want to park on top of the mailbox or NPCs for the lulz.

It’s an easy access auction house if you get the upgrades for it. There’s also a couple mounts associated with it. WOD’s the best place to farm for archaeology scraps if you’re interested in that.
Otherwise, generally not.
Salvage yard sets are still in the game.

RP wise I use mine for reflectign prisms, and on my main as a place for Herne and the kids to call home till we get an official one.
basically a few mounts another toys you can get, nothing really matters about it relevance wise anymore. when the expansion ended the garrison died. as the way it is will all WoW content. Sad but True.
The stable has a bunch of mounts you can earn.
There’s a cow pet if you fully upgrade the barn.
The profession buildings are required if you want to collect all the craftable appearances.
The fishing shack has an old TCG mount as a rare drop
The pet battle trainer had some pets and “Super Squirt Days” that happen a couple of times per year are a popular way to powerlevel pets (though I believe you just missed the last one for this year in NA)

When did they add them back though? There was definitely a point where you could only get Vendor trash out of them and they removed all those juicy removed BoEs.
Garrisons were mismanaged and were a big reason WoD flopped so hard. I agree with you that they have great potential. But they squandered it.

I run 10 garrisons…15 mins a day makes me ~4k a day average. Sanctums make the same or more. 250-300k a month for minimal work while drinking morning coffee.

Now that I think about it, the garrison really offers a few perks that are just stuck in the game. The portal thing for instance isn’t actually a bad perk, but the fact Dalaran already has a portal to the main cities kinda defeats that advantage. But it’s nice going back and seeing your fort basically living and breathing without you.

I use them to level up alts.
Garrison missions can sometimes give player xp.
taver/inn daily quests offer xp as well.
I also use the herb garden and inscription building to make card of omen and try my luck
There’s a couple of turtle mounts you can get out of a rank 3 fishing pond.
The only real use of the Garrisons post-wod is the 2 heartstone items(Garrison+Dock), heirloom ring and the black market viewer. Oh and a private training dummies.

From the ship stuff. It is random. I got it on accident. Maybe from other missions too but I got mine from the ship missions.
Plus you can get the PvP title called Warlord of Draenor which hardly anyone has. Why Warlord for both factions? Should have a Marshal version of it for the Alliance.
Battlepet stuff from there too among other things.
There are 2 heirloom rings from 2 rare quests.
Tons of mounts from the stables too.
There’s the Captain title for all the Naval achievements.
Think of all the names. Captain Price, Captain Planet, Captain America.

Garrison monuments haven’t worked for like the last 2 years. Blizz don’t care about garrisons.
