Is there any way to get my gold back?

I just bought two of the same unique rings from the auction house, not realizing that you can’t equip them both or even have both of them in your inventory/bank. Is there any way to get my gold back even if I can’t have the item?

Nope.

The auction house makes the tooltip of the item available to you, which would include that it’s unique, and they expect that you read the tooltip of what your buying to know what you’re getting.

You can put one of them back on the AH and attempt to get some or all of your gold back that way.

I would like to put it back on the AH but I already looted one of the items and equipped it. It won’t let me take the other item from the mail now.

Try putting the one you equipped into Void Storage temp. Cost ya 10g, but maybe works.

You can’t place Unique items in Void Storage.

Evidently Unique, because if it were only Unique equipped, he’d be allowed to have 2 in his bags.

The way you could do it is delete the soulbound one, claim the other, sell it, then un-delete the soulbound one.

Thanks for trying to help me out guys and for the tips. At least now I know what unique means lol. Its not the end of the world, only set me back like 25 gold.

Try what Cäpslöck said, but don’t delete it. Sell it to a vendor, then just buying it back after you place the other one in the AH.

Customer Support can’t refund or reverse an unwanted auction house purchase or sale. If you bought an item from the auction house and no longer want it, your only option is to relist the item for auction.

Of course, remember to buy it back before logging out. If you’re forgetful and distractible like me, that’s important to prioritize and keep in mind or else you’ll have to use the item undelete service to recover it.
