They are mechagnomes because they are 40k mechanicus people. They literally amputated their limbs and replaced them with machinery… and you want them to be nature lovers?
Yeah I mean if the player base wants the lore dead, the day I see Orc paladins and human shamans is the day I put the game down for good.
the only remaining assets that would need to be made for all class unlocks:
monk: needs animations for the dracthyr dragon form, only reason why they cant be monks
shaman: totems for humans, gnomes, night elves, worgen, void elves, lightforged draenei mechagnomes on the alliance. for horde, undead, blood elf, nightborne, and dracthyr. all races have the animations necessary for shamans.
paladin: mounts for almost all of the races. all races have the animations necessary for paladins.
evoker: possibly customizations for all playable races to make them stand out more at a glance if they choose to be in their visage form. this is mostly for pvp but i guess you could just force evokers into their dragon form at all times in pvp? maybe?
The new Warlock Races were explained in their own quest.
Obviously the reason why Void Elf Priests are able to use the Light is the same reason why LF Draenei Priests can use Void, Blizzard can’t remove Specs from Classes to fit racial lore/fantasy.
Really, siting Priests as a reason for removing all Race/Class combos is just flat out lazy.
Also, contrast is interesting. Negative space is interesting. The reasons why a WoW race does not do certain things vs. others is interesting. It * gasp * denotes variety and distinction.
Destroying that differentiation between races and classes would ruin the game for me.
Interestingly the void elf demon hunter race/class combo is unlocked through a questline that introduces them. I think that’s a first for wow.
They could use this to introduce the odder combos. Hell if somebody doesn’t like that Goblin paladins are playable, they can not do the quest and never have access to it.
Shaman race class combos could be the primalists who follow the Ice Dragon returning to their factions. The Night Elves have some in their new home already.
The Dream is literally open to everyone now as of 10.2.
Evokers, maybe add new visage forms exclusive to the class. They dont even need all the dragon features.
Demon hunters are a lot of work. But there are new recruits now in lore.
Paladins are always tied to an order. Silver hand for Human, Dwarf, and Dark Iron. Blood Knights for Blood Elves. Naruu worship for Draenei, Sunwalkers for Tauren, and Loa Worship for Zandalari. I’m actually not sure about Earthen though, their mount is called Judicator.
Some of the remaining races work easier as paladins than others. Worgen and Kul Tirans join Silver Hand, Nightborne become Blood Knights, Highmountain train Sun Walkers, trolls learn from Zandalari.
Night Elves have been set up.
We might see other paladin races introduced in Arator’s questline in Midnight.
Its also possible all races all classes, doesn’t extend to hero classes.
So why night elf mages then? They definitely don’t do that.
Why draenei warlocks? They ABSOLUTELY don’t do that.
Why orc priests? I can’t imagine they willingly embrace a human thing.
Why worgen monks? Their curse prevents them from staying calm, which is a requirement for monks, so they don’t really do that.
It’s a bad answer.
Aug was unlocked similarly. Though instead of a personal quest, it was the first time the quest was completed in the world.
Myself and others have been saying this for a while. Likely won’t happen.
You don’t have to be part of an order to be a paladin, it’s literally just a knight who can use light magic.
But if we feel like we need one, in the end of Dragonflight, Tyr (the guy who made paladins in the first place) came back to life, and is now helping run a new order of paladins, where it was said they will recruit from all peoples. LITERALLY set it up for all race pallies, but “muh charger” excuse keeps coming up.
The judicator in Earthen culture is kind of like a military police or national guard.
