Is there any other way to bypass my authenticator

Um, long story short, yesterday, I dropped my phone from my balcony, and well, my phone is at the moment at a phone repair shop getting fixed due to a lot of damage on the screen. With that, I can’t access my authenticator to login to the BNet app and since I have no other way of taking a photo of my identification to submit a ticket, Like, I am wondering if there is another way to bypass the authenticator, whether via email or something.

We rarely ask for IDs anymore.

If you submit a ticket to have it removed, you may get an email with some questions to help verify your identity.

Taking it off is the only way to ‘bypass’ it. Not necessarily something I’d actually recommend if this is a very short-term issue.

Oh ok, didn’t know this.

Yeah, I don’t want to remove it since it is only getting my phone fixed, and not getting a new phone or something. Oh well, guess I’ll just have to wait to get my phone fixed. Thanks for the help Orlyia.

If you are logging in from your normal IP address and device you may not even need to use the Auth to log in to WoW. Depending on how you have it set up, it may let you log in just automatically. I have mine set up that way. I rarely ever need my Auth.

Nobody else has access to my computer though so that is safe for me to do, not for everyone.

I’m usually on the same device connected to the same internet, but when I went to load into BNet to play some WoW, it required me to log in, and that is when I got a request for the authenticator. Not sure why though, I’ve been on the same device for a long time.

I have a “backup” authenticator on an old phone with no service for just this type of situation.

i cannot login into my desktop bnet nor my mobile because they were both logged out of today and now i cant get back in because both want me to approve the log in, which i cannot since i cant get into the apps. i have a ticket submitted already.

You should make a separate thread since you have a completely different issue than OP, and try not to revive threads older than a few months. You will get help a lot faster that way.

Keep it open just in case.

When installing the authenticator for the first time it offers to back up the recovery code. This should be printed out and stored in a safe location, as the recovery code allows to restore the authenticator on a new device.

You can find the recovery codes in the battle.net mobile app under “Authenticator menu” → “Serial Number and Recovery Codes”.

You’re replying to a thread that’s nine months old - it was bumped by someone else with a different issue.

Orlyia or Vrakthris, can one of you’s close this thread please. Dunno why someone revived this thread when they had a different issue.

You shouldn’t need to be logged into the Battle.net Mobile app for the Authenticator to work. Assuming you haven’t changed phones, etc… the the Authenticator should be synced to your current account. While logged out you should have the option to “Open Authenticator” below the log in option.

You’d select “Enter Code Manually”.

If you are still having trouble you may need to put in a request to have the authenticator removed.

Usually because they search for a key word and jump into any thread that matches their word. I’ll lock this up to avoid any confusion.
