Apparently, this is an issue due to race changes or faction changes. Every time a guild member race/faction swaps, I start getting “‘GUILD’ has earned the achievement [insert-race] Slayer!”
I don’t care if they pop up in guild chat. That’s not an issue. It’s the fact that it pops up in the middle of my screen (lower middle, but still) every time. I’m tired of seeing the same things pop up almost every day
Yes, go into the chat panel settings (right click the chat log header) and uncheck Guild Announce box.

That’s where you should only see guild achievement announcements. If you’re seeing them somewhere else then it’s a bug and should be reported as such.
This sounds like it may be an addon.
Possibly? I mean it pops up the way anything else does if I get an achievement. Near the extra action above your spells. It’s been like that since I think before I discovered addons I think, but it’s also been quite some time since that happened so I may be wrong
Seems like it’s an add-on; You could check Esc / Edit Mode and look at the Misc settings to see if there’s a notification frame (like talking head) that’s in the spot where you see the guild notices, but I only ever see those in chat, not in a pop-up (which makes me think add-on).
Yea the only one checked under Misc is Status Bar 2, which seems to be for Reputation. I’m not even sure what add-on would do it tbh
I’m not sure sadly but uh… if you all get the achievements out of the way real quick least they won’t pop up again… maybe?

Wouldn’t work anyway. It “resets” when someone changes their faction or race. Apparently this has been an issue (at least in the actual chat box) for a few years now. I assume the same thing that causes that also causes my issue
Oh I see now got you. I misread the main post above earlier my mistake. 
Speaking of turning off annoying notifications, can we please turn off the requirement to type “delete” when destroying an item of blue or better quality?

Bringing this up again, because it’s annoying. Is there no addon to disable the guild achievement announcement?
NOT the guild announcement in the chat, but the window that pops up. It’s not an addon.
I don’t even get them in my chat. They pop up on my screen. It’s often (but not always) at the same time as whatever bug causes ALL online players in the guild to “refresh” and all pop online simultaneously
For me it’s not only that, but sometimes when people login! As you can imagine it gets really bad.
Nobody seems to have a solution online. You can disable the chat achievement (which is what you have turned off) but not the dang window and sound.

Adding to this because it’s gotten obnoxious and continues to go unaddressed. Not only does our guild get consistent spam with guild achievements, but they’ve gotten to the point that it actually causes LUA errors followed by several moments of lag thereafter. I would love a suggestion to disabling them completely as most of the guild achievements are things the guild had already but is just now recognizing it for the first time, for the 85th time.
Seriously considering leaving my guild just to make it stop
