Is there an addon to disable typing for chat?

i want to see chat and read it so i know what other players are thinking of doing in a raid or pvp setting, but i dont want to participate in it, simply because 9/10 times people get soft and become report happy for even the slightest tip or critique to someones gameplay, some people are just blunt like myself and it gets taken as hostile half the time when its not even remotely close, so i dont want to participate in the community any longer, is there an addon for this?

If you use ElvUI you can toggle the chat frame and hide it.
ToggleQuestTracker to hide the questlog completely.
ToggleMiniMap to hide the minimap.

How do you expect to deal with a mechanic you’re missing if we can’t tell you you’re messing up? Your just asking to be kicked

i watch youtube videos on mechanics, no need, and theres also discord at worse, but the ingame reporting is obscene, blizzard should follow metas new policies imo

If you are doing a mech wrong we can’t tell you. If there are multiple ways we can’t tell you which way etc

‘i’m just blunt/being honest’ is usually an excuse for being an a-hole or being unable to read the room. just set up a chat window that doesn’t show instance/party/raid chat

Not sure what add on you want to stop you from typing in chat. That seems like a personal control issue…

So you want a mod that will keep you from being able to type in chat? I mean can’t you just do that yourself, it’s not like you are using some kind of talk to text setting.

I rarely look at in game chat anymore for any activity.

It’s very seldom anything good.

It’s usually an insult or unsolicited “advice” with a thin level of snark.

That’s because you are capable of conversing like a polite person.

As are most of us.

I suspect this person is in the same boat as the guy on Reddit who said people are too soft and reporting is out of hand. He screenshotted his ban email. He was calling people idiots, etc.

Not that im aware but if you type it out and press ctrl + a then backspace it deletes it.

Think of it as the typing out a email to relieve stress but deleting it.
