Specifically asked for highest quality and added a 2500g tip…didn’t get a full quality piece. That was like 20k gold…and I’m sort of returning I don’t really wanna refarm all that for one piece. Should I just forget it and try again…spent several hours asking before I put in the public order and it was filled almost instantly to low quality. Is there anything I can do? Seems like a really crap system if you ask me.
Do. Not. Use. Public. Orders. For. Items. With. A. Quality.
How is a person supposed to know that?
Nope, no way to refund public orders.
When you make a public order you are opening it up to everyone, first come first serve, no quality required. So you might get someone who can do the maximum possible quality, or you might get someone who can’t and will give you the max quality they’re capable of.
If you 100% want max quality, your best bet is to search for someone who can absolutely do that for you and create a personal crafting order, set the quality to max, and that way they can’t fulfill the order without reaching your quality expectations.
Thankfully now that the item has been crafted, you are able to get it recrafted for fewer materials, so you won’t be out of pocket too much.
Nope.
No there’s nothing you can do after the fact. Public orders are for stuff you don’t care about our things that don’t have ranks.
If you need R5 then you need to use the personal order where it lets you select the crafting quality.
Oh ok I’ll have to look into how that’s done. Seems really silly to allow that system without notifying the player who is requesting the craft I was asking for literally hours in trade. That honestly is poorly designed. Or, poorly implemented.
i hope they remove this crafting bs, make some real quality changes to it
They’re not. It’s hit or miss. Public Orders should have the option to choose a quality and should require all mats. Otherwise they’re useless.
I agree with this.
Just go to the crafting orders NPC and the top option will be ‘recrafting order’ but a recrafting order CANNOT be a public order, so make sure you already have someone in mind who can craft the item at max quality for you.
The system is far better than previous expansions in all honesty. If you just want to get something quickly crafted for you, no need to spam trade, just slap the materials into a public crafting order, add a bit of gold for a tip and you’re done.
The only thing the system needs is:
- A respec option for knowledge points, which is coming in the next patch.
- For trainers to have patterns that will get you up to max profession level, rather than stopping at 50/55.
Well…it did or so I thought I went and bought all the highest quality stuff I could get and made the order. How does that not come out automatically to highest quality. And how are they just enabling players to kinda screw each other without even telling them it’s a possibility. That just seems incredibly poorly thought out, designed, and implemented. And the fact that it’s just like…oh now you know sorry to have wasted several hours of your time just straight up sucks. Sorry…this is a bad system period.
Because of the redesign of the system. Max rank mats don’t guarantee max quality gear. Someone didn’t have the concentration for it or wasn’t leveled high enough or has no idea how to use the crafting system. Or all of the above.
Alrighty ty. I appreciate that.
Anyone that can craft the item can take the public order. This means that people trying to skill up are going to watch that system taking anything that will give them a skill point. They are going to choose not to use concentration on that because they are saving it for personal crafts.
So you’re unlikely to ever get a R5 from a public order.
So blizzard allows players to spend max resources and then let’s another player get skill while the player who wanted an item and spent max resources gets duped…that…is simply terrible design. Lmao. Honestly it really just is. I’m not gonna blow a gasket or anything it’s just…that’s just straight up dumb…lol.
By the way, I tipped 2500 gold too. So whoever made it got skill points and 2500 gold and screwed me for my effort. Heavy sigh. … Lol. Oh well, live and learn I guess.
I agree with you. The public order system is basically useless at best. I’d say it actually hurts new/inexperienced players.
But anything that slows you down and has you repeating the same things over again is a boon for Blizzard.
Because quality is determined by skill. Obviously the more high quality materials you have as part of the order, the lower the skill requirement will be for max quality, but materials will only get you so far. The rest is up to the player crafting the item for you and how specialized their crafting is, whether they’re using the best tools available etc.
Finishing reagents can help greatly improve skill to ensure max quality. So if you have those and are willing to use them, do that. That will benefit you in two ways:
- It will help the crafter reach higher skill tiers without needing to invest as much concentration. It might even put them over the edge and allow them to go up a tier.
- It will lock out most low-quality crafters who might have the pattern unlocked, but not the ability to use finishing reagents on that pattern, which requires more knowledge point investment.
Just as there are AH product snipers that re-sell.
There are also lower level crafters trying to get easy gold.
