Is there a single player game that plays like WoW?

Fluid combat, action RPG, decent story, but not the kind where you have to control multiple characters. Prefer one where you can customize your characters looks and stuff.

The ability to play offline is a must.

Not quite like WoW, but I still play Diablo 2 LoD. D3 is too cartoony for my taste.

Gonna do Dragons Dogma on Switch for now and then Amalur when it comes out on Switch in a couple months.

I like the last 3 assassin’s creed. They are SP offline, have Xmog (pretty cool armors too), and combat is relatively similar. Also, the maps are beautiful, especially Origins.

Odyssey is probably the most like WoW of the 3, due to the abilities.

I’m not sure I’d describe Origins or Odyssey as “WoW like” but they were outstanding games. I loved going to historical places in those games, especially the Pyramids.

oh wait you want more customization…

uh…Dragon age 3 has good customization, and you don’t have to control your companions. They can fight by themselves.

If Cyberpunk 2077 wasn’t buggy, I’d suggest it, but it depends on the setting you prefer and the system you use, not to mention whether you want a fully custom character or a somewhat customisable named character with a fixed appearance. Mass effect 1-3 might be ok

I found Dragon Age Origins to be very close. I actually had the opposite question, after replaying DAO a few times I was looking for something similar in feel & ended up with WoW.

There’s also fallout New Vegas, pretty ugly now but very customisable although scratch that, it’s not a smooth action RPG… Witcher 3 seems good tho it has a fixed character with a backstory…

The only “bug” in that game is the fact as a male ‘V,’ I can’t hook up with Judy. Apparently she’s into girls only, buncha nonsense.

Really grinds my gears that I can’t partake in that finally crafted booty.
