Because Blizz didn’t have to do as much work to make her look voidy and it would also mean Blizz would have to add more customization to the Vulpera models.

Imagine her trying to be all intimidating and voidy only to do that “jump and dive head through the snow” thing foxes do but through a void portal

It would have been hard to take her seriously if she was a Vulpera.

Especially if she was as cute as you are.

Optics. She’s going for beautiful menace, not cute fluffiness. She can’t really get there from here as a Vulpera.

Xal’atath looks like a proper villain. Vulpera are just talking floor rugs.

Now I’m picturing Xal’atath as a cute snooty little patootie and I can’t take it anymore.

I refuse to fight against a snooty patootie. She must be protected at all costs.

Not the same impact. Imagine the villain laugh as a goth elf, then imagine it as a fox thing.

I watched this show Locke & Key before and Xal’atath really pulls off the elf thing quite well. She reminds me of Dodge, one of the characters in the show.

They both inhabit a stolen body and their inner machinations are very
 Lovecraftian. I always go head over heels over Xal because the elf that you see isn’t actually her. We have no idea who she really is or even what she is. And I love that type of thing so much lol.

But in the body of an adorable snooty patootie? I don’t think my heart can take it.

The devs LOVE elves. They could have very easily made her a beautiful green skinted orcish woman.

 to appeal to mortal races for more power.

Because nobody is afraid of Vulpera?

The last time I got destroyed by a Vulpera in pvp I couldn’t even be mad. I was just like “Aww, look everyone, it thinks it’s people!”
