Is there a reason why Xal'atath chose to be a dark, spooky Void Elf

IIRC, the elf Xalatath took control of was a High Elf, and not specifically a Void Elf.

Much like the process of making other void elves, she was “tainted” by the void with Xal’atath’s possession.

Technically Xal’atath isn’t an elf at all, it’s just sentient magic occupying the body of an undead elf.

She actually takes the form of whatever you desire most. Whenever she appears, I just see a ham sandwich.

She’s bacon? Or steak?

Never heard of Bacon Elves and Steak Elves.

At least she’s not the Stay Puffed Marshmellow Man.

Because it was a high elf doing evil things with the blade when we “freed” her in BFA.

I doubt she looks like a Void Elf. No doubt she shapeshifts into a void monster when we eventually fight her.

She took over the corpse that was available when she finally had a chance to leave the dagger. Beggers can’t be choosers.

The serious answer is that it saved Blizz some trouble.

Void Elves were already there, so if they wanted to give a Humanoid body to a Void being and make it look voidy with the least about of work, Void Elves were the best option.

“But Luxuria, Xal’atath has a brand new model. Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of giving her a Void Elf body?”

She only got a new model now. But she became a Void Elf in BfA, many years and two expansions ago. So the limitations of her design still apply when we consider the resources available at the time those things happened.

Multiple tails and glowing purple fire orbs?

Would make an interesting boss fight, wish that will happen. :8ball::robot:

If you ever listened to some of the stuff “she” say as a dagger to Shadow Priests, you wouldn’t need to ask heh heh. She is spooky.

Because the wow devs are boring and love to cater to the elf fans

/moo :cow:

The void elf women had one of the relics Xal’atath was after and it was a convenient body.

You’d look better as a coat

because xal’atath is my queen <3

Xalatath isn’t “taking a form” like some kind of visage or illusion. It’s inhabiting a corpse. A corpse that, IIRC we helped provide it.

Much like the noble hermit crab, I’m sure it will leave its current carcass behind should a more suitable one be made available.

And yet another “undead” (sort of maybe not really) female elf antagonist is somewhat uninspired on Blizzard’s part.

We’re too clever to leave dead bodies around for Void beings to possess.
