PvP is for PvP. It’s competitive fighting against other players. That’s what you should be queuing for. “Rewards” are a just a bonus on the side. If you’re queuing primarily for the rewards then PvP isn’t for you. If you’re AFK’ing out because it’s a loss then PvP isn’t for you.
Go back to pet battles.

I wonder why the people complaining about leavers don’t just go to rated. After all, most of the same people complaining about leavers often tell frustrated people on this forum that rated is the answer when complaints about undergeared teammates or premades are brought up.
Nobody is going to afk out of RBGs and you don’t have to worry about queeuing into a losing game. It’s the perfect solution.

Explains a lot, there’s a very specific type of player that keeps talking about competitive pvp yet choose to be competitive in a non competitive game where gear also gives huge advantages that trump skill.

The vast majority that go for ce or world first 100% do it for the achievement. Not sure how you don’t see that.
Except you can’t really get into rated groups without gear. Even yolos aren’t going to take 400ilvl people. Random bgs have always been the place to go gear up. You have the expectations backwards here.
And what do you get from winning? Some marks of honor? A terrible piece of gear?
Unrated BG’s are basically for the fun of pvp anyways…win or loss. Stop pretending like winning is somehow super worthwhile while losing isn’t. Practically speaking unless you need the marks for a mog or are sub 425 ilvl it’s unrewarding either way. You play for the competition of PvP.
Dropping out cause you think it’s a loss just misses the point entirely. Stop with the defeatist attitude and just play. You’ll surprise yourself with the “reward” of encountering actual PvP.
Part of the problem is that a decent number of the bg maps fall under the “not fun” category for a lot of people. So many people don’t want to be in these bgs in the first place, but due to a lack of a blacklist option they end up in there. So it’s no surprise that people are so quick to bail out of these handful of unpopular maps.
Wintergrasp? Seething Shore? Battle for Gilneas? Unless I “get something” or am somehow compensated for being in these bgs, there is no real reason to stay if it looks like a loss.
Fun bgs like Southshore vs Tarren Mill are the opposite for me - I quickly knocked out the “win a PvP brawl” quest on day 1, but for the rest of the week I spammed it pretty much non-stop. Didn’t even care about the (tiny) conquest/honor reward past the “first win of the way” - I kept queuing over and over (for hours at a time) because I find the bg enjoyable.
It’s almost as if players enjoy certain bgs over others, imagine that 
So with the lack of a blacklist feature and subpar/inferior rewards, it’s no surprise people bail out of unpopular maps.
They can teach a MasterClass!
If that’s the case que for specifics and don’t que for random. Don’t subject other people to defeatist attitudes and throws because you want the random que reward but can’t stomach the random que maps. The solution to your problem already exists.
We used to have a blacklist for BG’s anyways and this did not prevent people from QQing out of a BG if they thought it was a loss. It’s a mentality problem not a systems problem.

weekly random pvp does give a nice piece of gear. On my main I’m trying to get a 450 item, but can’t, because every time pugs go for their weekly we also have to deal with the premades.

If you are above 460 gear level , even a win does not mean anything . But we still play BG’s everyday .
