I’ve been grinding dungeons in the dungeon finder for the past give or take 8 hours, mainly just leveling up my tank alts. Super chill runs, relaxing conversations about anime and just good vibes start to finish.
A friend, who doesn’t play much and is just coming back, asks to join my dungeon queues to get some levels. We send a dungeon, two pulls in I’m immediately accosted with full caps-lock screaming from the healer, flaming me for what I would assume is something specific? He was mad that the fear went off in one of the mob packs in the first pulls of Brackenhide.
I tell him it’s probably because the interrupt got missed, but it’s fine. I’m just chilling, having a good time, not too worried about a simple mistake in a normal dungeon finder queue. Before I’m able to continue, he continues screaming in chat, and I’m booted from the dungeon.
He proceeds to whisper me, direct quote “youre mad” and “your furious” over and over again.
I’m really confused
This isn’t the first time it’s happened. I literally only encounter these players when I’m queueing with my friend. When I’m queueing alone, it’s super relaxing and very chill. When I queue with him, I am almost constantly verbally assaulted or trolled in some capacity by the players in the queue (I mainly tank with him, for those who are wondering why me in particular) and I’m not sure how to avoid that.
Is there some form of hidden queue system that absorbs all the toxic players, kinda like how League does it? Are we just horribly unlucky? I’m confused.
Dunno but there is 3 DPS in the group why didn’t they kick the fear? Not just the tanks job you might have had to kick a spell to pull a mob into the pack.
For that matter why didn’t the healer kick the fear if it’s such a big deal
This would explain why some folks are always like “I NeVeR GeT BaD gRoUpS! YoU muSt Be LyInG”
Well, that and the fact they do not understand that they are not the main character and things happen without them present.
Toxic players do toxic things. I don;t understand them either. Some of the worst players of the game are so salty and rage filled. Then they swear they are skilled because they get carried and don’t realize it.
It’s a very bad mentality for some players, straight up thinking certain tasks need to be assigned to a specific role, like explosives are a tank or healer job, interrupts are a tank job, healers don’t need to DPS, DPS don’t need to use defenses.
The list goes on, but it’s ALWAYS the person who blames others who is not a part of that role. Like the healer OP had, almost certainly would be blaming every tank for missed interrupts, blaming every DPS for not using defenses, while doing bare minimal and if we linked the logs showing them not doing any DPS they would be screaming “IT’S NOT MY JOB!!!” all along the way.
I suspect that the match making tries hard to ensure success of the group when it matches players together.
I queue as a healer for the call to arms bonus and am almost always put into groups with very inexperienced players.
I have to explain the fight mechanics or where to go in the dungeon. I’m fine with that, but it seems to reinforce the theory that something extra is going on behind the scenes with the matchmaker.
As far as toxicity, I remember in Legion the group kicked someone for a rude non-reason and once in BfA the mage and healer argued the whole time because the mage wanted the staff that dropped for the priest. So that’s to say I hardly ever see it.
Should I post screenshots? Not that I care how much you believe it or not, but if my thread is that unbelievable then it might help to post it for the sake of brevity.
That’s as much as I remember from toxic dungeon queues as well, you get the occasional psycho and they get the boot, things continue as normal. I haven’t seen someone like that in my own queues in… I can’t even remember when the last one was, to be honest.
THERE IS! and it works exactly like the fast pass at Disney. You can cut the line for an instance or PvP up to 8 times a day. The cool thing about this is nobody can see you walking past them to get on the thing you have been waiting to get on like a regular schmo.
I’m not sure why you were the focus in regards to the whiffed interrupt? Sounds like the three DPS didn’t know the big boy casts the fear which is, a good fraction of the time, a guaranteed wipe.
If you were as ‘chill’ as you were saying, I’m not sure why they would reply that you’re mad as opposed to random insults.
Either way, bad dungeon experiences happen, ignore the person, report if they broke ToS, and move right along. I doubt there’s a hidden queue for toxic people…And seeing how, if so, you’re in it, that may be a bit of a concern.
This is why I have a problem believing a lot of these stories. I’m not saying it’s impossible, but the person telling the tale is always mild mannered and free of any guilt.
And what did that weapon for them when the expansion ended and out came the next, and the next and next?
Not trolling ya, but it’s funny to think back about items you can now solo farm an item that literally broke guilds.
The items are still there, waiting to be farmed. Laying in the shadow of their former importance still holding on to the echoes of an angry memory.
Kinda sad but telling if you view items today in the same regard as the past.
