It’s a fantasy world and context - we can all tell the difference between stories and reality, children included. Stories about war and death can be a gentle introduction to harsh realities.
People bringing in all their real-world ugliness though (not just ‘bad words’), and trying to out-do each other with it - yeah, if I was a parent I’d be pretty concerned about subjecting a child to that too.
