It’s not that I’m worried about the grind do much as I’m worried that I’m kinda late to the party only being level 46 right now. It feels like Classic will end before I hit 60 and get geared. Lol
You guys know my schedule now, so basically what I’m asking is if that is enough to eventually be geared and smack some people around in PvP or not?
It’s funny you say rogues are rare because today I think I saw 2 other warriors leveling and easily 10+ rogues in gadgetstan. However, yes if I go into orgrimmar half of the people I see are warriors with lionheart helm.
I think I would have already made the switch if my warrior was Alliance but I’m not a fan of Tauren Druids so that has kept me on my warrior. As for a rogue… I mean I’m running fury DW anyway so as long as a pick the same race I guess it would feel similar… but as painful as the grind was to 46 on a war… I feel like rogue would be just as bad and now I’m doing it again lol.
Remember that you will have to dungeon gear twice. You will need to grind out fully twice as many runs as another class. You will also need to form all of your own groups and disallow any other warriors from rolling with you, which only will compound the problem since 1 in every 4 wow classic characters is a warrior.
Your choice.
Simply put, there are too many warriors, and I don’t recommend playing one. I don’t mean to be the bearer of bad news but yes, you kinda are late to the party as a warrior.
That being said… You do have other options since BGs are about to drop. If you carefully pick and choose quest rewards from the level 60 zones, boe and crafted epics, and grind to exalted with the BG factions, you can still put together a solid set of gear.
You can still realize your dream, you just might have to take a less conventional path.
Edit: and you will need to be comfortable doing a lot of rep grinding and gold farming. But you CAN do it. The upside to that is, you will have a good chance of getting rank 10 just from the rep grinds if you focus on them.
I remember doing arena in WOTLK as a warrior with a dungeon axe from Pit of Saron… we did well but it was a terrible experience with that weapon. So I would like to avoid that as much as possible. Are MC weapons better than unstoppable force?
I’d like to raid I’d just have to be a casual raider that does it on weekends.
Either that or find me a class that doesn’t “NEED” to raid lol
Warrior is the best pve class overall, but its absolute garbage in pvp as a solo player.
A warrior needs a pocket healer, more so than any other class to be able to function at all. Yes they are wrecking balls with support, but without it they are pretty much bottom tier.
If you see a video of a warrior doing well solo, its because they out-geared the opponent by a mile and every class is good in that situation.
Bonereaver edge off ragnaros is a considerable upgrade to TUF. There are few others that will be fairly easy to obtain as well, such as Drake Talon Cleaver in BWL.
The other classes get stronger too and the fact that a warrior will always need a pocket healer unless they outgear their opponent by a mile never changes.
Pocket heals. Warriors in Vanilla were dependent on pocket heals. Otherwise you often felt like a glass cannon because of lack of heals and survival tricks. Defensive stance always made me laugh, because to gain a 10% damage reduction you basically neuter your damage output. So yeah, pocket heals…
not for the solo casual. Even in decent blues, unless you catch a player at half heath and get the jump on them, you arnt winning. OP 60 War is one that constantly raids, has full purps and a pocket healer. Yes, then, with all that and a shaman for totems, he becomes a God. But for the casuals, like myself, its rough.
Leveling a shadow priest to melt faces on the side and use my main to raid. Life will be easier
at 60 you can always tank and get quick groups to gear up, 5 man wise. you can also tank raids but getting a spot for that can really be hit or miss but i would ask around, as some have said a lot of warriors now adays are kinda meh but with bwl coming up guilds will be looking for more tanks.
pvp wise yes it can be really rough at time but with a pocket healer you can smash people. during vanilla on khadgar i was a warrior with a group that push six ppl to hwl we even got the last one on the server before the honor change. but in solo play wpvp is a crap shoot you will blow hot and cold but eng helps a ton. now in bg it will be alot easier for you sense everyone is running around and your bound to get a heal or two.
in terms of your 20 playtime i know just how you feel im pretty much in the same boat right now. but i will say it is doable just slow once you hit 60 and dont have to level anymore you can put your time into bg, raids or tanking 5 mans.
trust me leveling sucks on a limited amount of playtime i know but it will be worth it in the end.
id shoot to run some MC and ony you can do those runs fairly quickly in a night and grab maybe an OEB off mag i think that sword alone should pump up your arms dmg a good amount and it drops fairly early in mc, or you could look at getting dual deathbringers off ony but that would take twos min. then pvp your heart out if you so choose
It’s just really tough to say. If you can get a lot of mc pugs and or / have a guild that is farming mc, you should be ok.
The biggest issue will be your weapon. All 4 melee pvp classes in the game (warrior, rogue, enhancement shaman, and ret paladin) are very weapon dependent. And you will NEVER be able to stop upgrading your weapon as phases roll on.
Hunter and the 3 casters are the least gear-dependent classes and can always do well in blues.
