Is the pay off at 60 worth playing a warrior?

People keep bringing up leveling… I’m asking what 60 is like for a warrior with 20hours a week to play lol and if it’s worthwhile

I’d say it’s quite nice, it’s when your scaling comes to kick in.

Any bis items you get is also a nice plus.

Try not to doubt yourself too much.

You have a few months until this game dies due to no more content being released. Play what you want and have fun.

He’s slaying people as fury PvP?

Does he have lots of time to play to get/stay geared?

Will you be my dead game :flushed:?

Hmmm not sure! I’m a casual and I’m in raid gear :joy:. He’s pretty casual himself! In all BiS. BiS for fury is mostly rogue BiS mind you! All leather

Took me 13 days /played to hit 60 :sunglasses::+1:t2:

How many hours do you figure you play per week?

unless your geared and have pocket heals no.

I have a 60 ret and a lvl 10 war alt. I clearly hate myself from a leveling point of view :rofl::rofl:

PvE: there are a ton of Warriors and unless you tank you’ll be competing with both Warriors and Rogues for gear. Some of the better DPS gear is leather and if you go dual wield, you compete for weapons as well. That said, whether you SHOULD roll on leather is a different topic.

PvP: if you have a pocket healer you will be a wrecking ball. If you are solo you’re a free HK. It’s really that simple.

They’re a ton of fun but if you want melee I’d go Rogue, if you are OK with a meme spec (which IMO is fine, but you’ll get a lot of resistance) then go Druid. Youc an tank, melee DPS, range DPS or heal and only need 2 gear sets. The downside there is the best caster (DPS) gear is cloth and people HATE to lose a raid roll to a Boomkin. Heal gear is basically free.

With healer friends and a good guild, yes.
Without those things, little bit less yes?

I’ve honestly been considering a Druid since before I started a war… but at this point it’s painful to even think about going back to level 10-20…Druid would be the answer to all my problems… I could still tank, be good in world PvP, good at solo content… but warriors look cool haha

This is gonna sound stupid but I hate the idea of the 6 days I’ve put into my warrior being all for nothing…which is how this post started, I also don’t want to hit 60 on my warrior and be sitting here saying : “spending 12 days of play time to get a warrior 60 was all for nothing” lol

I say stick it out, you aren’t far off from 60. Just keep in mind that when it comes to pvp, you need gear AND support. You can substitute support for faps/consumes if you have the gear but then you are basically spending 5-10g to pop a fap and kill one Mage. However a Warrior in blues with support is going to be hitting like a wet noodle considering the level of gear a lot of 60s will have now.

Ultimately depends on what you want to get out of Classic. You have picked the one class that demands the most time for reward ratio. It doesn’t magically get better at 60 unfortunately, it takes much more dedication than say a Mage who’s entire kit revolves around making your life miserable, or a Paladin who can just whittle you down and has 10 lives while you have 1.

How much gear are we talking in order to not hit like a wet noodle?

Id say as a minimum you’d want something like valor set/demonshear/retaliator/doomsaw as a starting point. Valor is great because it gives you well rounded stats with plate and a good bit of stamina. If whatever you are fighting is rocking raid purples you will want earthshaker/rag weapon. Trying to cut through a raid geared mage/priest with their shields up is a nightmare, and locks get an insane amount of effective hp with void walker sac.

Is it that hard to require all of that if I’m willing to tank for groups?

Or am I better off doing something else with my limited time ? Like a lock/Druid/hunter?

You will get groups pretty fast since you are tanking but getting to the dungeon and actually clearing it could take close to an hour all up. Depends if there’s no wipes, downtime, getting ganked along the way etc. And then the items have to actually drop. Speaking as someone who has a similar schedule to you in that i can only play ~2 hours a night, I’m lucky if all i do is manage to clear one of the endgame dungeons before i need to head off to bed.

Every class needs some level of gear in the end. But i guess the crux of being a Warrior is that you are far more dependent on it than anyone else. If you enjoy the grind then it’s worth your time for sure.

As fury dual weild yes. It can be quite fun even watching all the crits fly off when I mindlessly pelt Scarlets in SM for gold. You can even hear a splatter of bleeds being applied with each hit if your into that kind of thing.

But our weaknesses are fighting fleshless targets and our semi staleness we bring to the table when we go to groups or raid competitively since our power is so heavily dictated by gear when dpsing.

You could also tank but I find tanking to be more stressful than enjoyable since our kit is so small and a lot more can go wrong when trying to hold aggro.

The thing you must also keep in mind is the number of warriors on your server in question.

Warriors are very powerful IF GEARED and only, only then.

But, in Classic, they are also something like 25% of the playerbase on average.

So, you need to really ask yourself if you can get a raid spot, either as fury or as a tank.

To tell you the truth, your odds are not good, at this point.

Getting to 60 is really only about half the battle.

Warriors are pretty disposable and are developing an increasing reputation of being… well… the new huntards, along with mages.

This is not meant as an insult, but see the post above this one for the kind of warriors it seems we are dealing with now.

Most warriors just seem to want to be knockoff rogues, and just dual wield dps while wearing leather, etc. and never tank.

There’s not much… need… for any more of that.

Since you have said you have a pretty limited schedule of playtime, I’d really recommend you consider a vastly less gear-dependent and saturated class. Unlike vanilla, rogues are really rare, and are pound for pound much stronger in pvp than warriors (with equal gear). There are other options as well, such as hunter or any caster.
