Is the Light the new Nemesis?

Lower your expectations big boy.

Anduin and a Naaru made Calia a lightborne Undead.

No.

Draenei with 110% more Light.

Right now? No.

Its his emo phase.

May it never shine again.

Seriously, pretty sure Velen and Turalyon both have him thoroughly beat in this category.

Azeroth, supposedly.

Was he ever either? Lore characters exist outside the laws of class mechanics, and that often comes with unique class names. Kael’thas was a Blood Mage, with some plate-like armor. Thrall was a Farseer in plate.

Up until recently all the bad we’ve dealt with has been associated with things you expect to be bad. Death, void, fel. But what Blozzard is trying to show us is that the cosmic forces are all the same. That none of them are good. And none are evil. Because they don’t operate within the parameters of mortal moral code. They exist and all have the same goal, to dominate all the rest. To be too dog in the undending struggle between all six forces. The way the first ones have set the system up theoretically it should be impossible for any single force to ever attain victory. And I firmly believe that Azeroth and the mortals living on her surface play a huge role in assuring that no power ever “wins”.

We already defeated two. Disorder and death have been routed.

If our experience in the Shadowlands shows anything is that systems set up by the First Ones do break down.

Weird thing there is Death was mostly just repaired.

and Disorder? We set it free of the bonds of Order that Sargeras had imposed upon it unnaturally. We have never seen true Chaos in action before.

We also saw that they can all be networked together. That’s what the jailer was doing while we fought him, connecting to all the other Zereths using Azeroth as a battery.

No, you were right. Claudia Christian voices Liadrin. She was at Blizzcon one year with other voice actresses and talking about her character, performing lines, etc.

Well they should be. The Light can not be trusted and I want to see Zerde having an epic meltdown when we kill Turalyon as a villain.

None of the forces should be trusted blindly. They all have their own drives and agenda which at best sometimes intersect with ours.

I think the forces of Light and Void will both be villains eventually, because both will want to convert Azeroth the Titan to their side, and as the protectors of Azeroth we’ll need to make sure she’s born as she’s meant to be, as opposed to a being that is a supersoldier for either side.

However I don’t think the Light or Void themselves will be the enemy, I think the mortals will be able to wield those powers against the same forces we’re fighting. The Void and Light don’t have wills of their own, they’re primordial forces of creation. And the Void Lords and “Light Lords” (probably super naaru) might be made of those forces but they’re not the total arbiters of their will.

What we’ll probably see are some beings falling in line, but others instead rebelling and using those same powers still, just not being with the program.

Will never happen. Turalyon is Azeroth’s greatest defender. His deeds are legend for a reason.

Memes where it turns out your savior doesn’t share your concept of what is “right” as much as you thought they did, are common enough and Blizzard has been playing with it in Yrel’s story.

Keep hope alive.

A story that you don’t share unless you play Horde.

Liadrin, Alonsus and Dezco to name a few might disagree with you there.

Is this hostility to Turalyon because of Turalyon’s past conflicts with the Horde?

Tbh modern media is going in such a way that anything remotely resembling Christianity is being painted as universally evil, courtesy of the culture war. It makes sense that the Light, which is pretty damn Catholic-coded, would be a target of that, narratively speaking.

He did kind of defeat the Horde and ended the Second War,

It kind of reflects the very true fact that a lot of Christianity ESPECIALLY the Catholic Church has a hell of lot of dark history capped by those mitres, the Inquisition, the wholesale enslavement and destruction of myriad cultures, all the way up to collaboration with the goose steppers of Germany and Mussolini as well as hiding child molestation acts by its priests . Christianity is the focus because IT IS the most powerful and dominant religion in Western culture. Every American President and politician up to very very modern times has had to bend knee to it in this supposedly secular nation.

Hope is already dead for the Horde.

He killed countless Orcs yes. I have no reason to support him on anything until he apologizes

Alonsus is Alliance. Dezco is a sun druid. Liadrin is our only light fanatic and she is not the majority of her people.
