Is the Light the new Nemesis?

The heck even is Shadow nowadays?

It is a good question. The Auchenai seem to be back to doing their shadow magic in the old pre-Legion/Chronicles way. No tentacles or insanity involved.

But at the same time the void is being all void-y all over the place.

I suspect that each of the Gods have a bad aspect:

The Sun An’she’s bad aspect is the Black Hole(Dimensius the All-Devouring) with the Golden Sun(An’she) and Red Giant(Denathrius) being the neutral Aspects.

The little Moon Lo’sho’s aspects are Vorpalia, Xal’atath and Z’rali. None of her aspects are bad but neutral and misguided by her parents.

The Moon Mu’sha’s bad aspect is the Blood Moon with the Golden Moon(Mu’sha), White Moon(Azshara) and Dark Moon(L’ura) being the neutral aspects.

The Moon Elune’s bad aspect is the Eclipse/Night Warrior with the Full Moon and Crescent Moon being the neutral aspects.

Odyn(who had personally transferred himself into a Titanforged to run things turning his Planet body into Aman’Thul)'s bad aspects are the Highfather(formerly Aman’Thul now Yogg-Saron after Odyn threw a fit over the heretics in Avaloren and needed Ulduar’s resources necessitating Aman’Thul’s power infused into Yogg-Saron) and All-Father(Odyn) with the Primus and Greatfather Winter being the neutral aspects.

The Winter Queen’s bad aspect is currently inside the Machine altered by the First Ones’ programming while her good aspect is the Summer Queen in Ardenweald’s mirror in Avaloren.

Oh… how predictably binary. Hopefully Blizzard has something more ineresting and original than simplistic binary good and evil.

I consider those people in disagreement. If they disagree with me on minor things, it’s no big deal.

However people who think that they have a right to my person, to enforce themselves on me to serve their ideology will find my disagreements to be quite strenuous.

Don’t you mean Neutral and Evil? I have been insinuating that the “Gods” have Neutral and Evil Aspects with some(specifically Lo’sho with her example in the post you were replying to contradicting the first sentence of said post) of the “Gods” having all Aspects be Neutral.

Good Aspects don’t exist. Neutral and Destructive are the division between Aspects.

This is what happens when the writers can’t keep their setting consistent. It becomes a mess.

The fact that this thread keeps getting derailed is partially due to how poorly executed this idea has been and how much material it’s lacking.

None of your sophistry or wordplay changes the fact that you’re still making objective claims.

How are my claims objective? If they were objective, they would be truths that we can mutually agree on.

We don’t.

You have absolutely no problem with your supposedly “good” beings shanghaing a person against their will and literally rewriting them, reprogramming them to their “benevolent” agenda.

Wheras I believe that X’era absolutlely deserved to be blown to bits. And I would want no such would-be “do-gooders” anywhere on the same planet I am.

We each make our calls according to our own subjective set of values. If you want objective… stick to mathematics.

Was pointing out how your claim is objective, not whether it’s right or wrong. And nothing you say changes that.

No you weren’t you just keep tossing that word around as if just saying it proved it. And your statements are just as subjective as mine.

You’re in denial and projecting.

The funny thing is, I can see an antagonistic Light storyline as something that could work. But not how it’s currently been done. Look how much fans who want this have to spew wishful thinking, and headcanon while ignoring canon to try and justify this idea.

This!

I was starting to wonder this. I think Blizz is obsessed with balance…like a Yin/Yang type of thing. you can see it all through each of the expansions.

It’s kind of an essential thing with them considering that this game is also an E-Sport.

I used to think the Light and Void might be a Ying/Yang deal. Then I learnt that Ying and Yang are complete opposites in various ways, moreso than what Blizzard portrayed with the Light and the Void. And then we have their trend of basing morality around whoever the protagonist is, which has really hurt the story and setting.

remember even ashbringer came from a void crystal
if you kill a light lord it probably becomes a void lord like what happens with naaru.
the two just go back and forwards

void lords and their light counterparts are just cosmic powers manifesting.
only troll gods are real and understand might makes right
hakkar for warchief

Could the Void crystal have been a drained or corrupted Light crystal? Would killing a Void Lord turn them to the Light?

If Hakkar does that, then we’ll rally the Army of the Light and put Hakkar in his place! #YrelDidNothingWrong lol

absolutely. :100:

Mayhap.
The protagonist always seems to have a “fall”.
I see whom ever the protagonist is as the next one set up for the fall.
After this, there is also a Redemption component.
Varian (split in two), Thrall, Uther, Salvannas, Anduin…
except it took almost 20 years to kill off Arthas.
TBH I think its healthy to also showcase permanent death. it should be more “normal” the shadowlands kinda wrecked it and allowing Yrel to come back was dumb.
STOP bringing these characters back. Just build out the new ones.
I also imagine Blizz story writers littering taking a pin tack and putting a name on it like “salvannas” and put it up on the side and say “we’re just going to put a pin in this for now” we will let her roam around shadowlands collecting all the souls she put there. Eventually we will bring her back.

Blizzard has had a fetish for edgelord-ery for awhile.
For a long time they were obsessed with the fallen hero trope. From Warcraft alone;

  • Arthas
  • Sargeras
  • Sylvanas
  • Ner’zhul
  • Kil’jaeden
  • Kel’thuzad
  • The Scarlet Crusade
  • Sylvanas
  • Malygos
  • Lana’thel

And more.

Besides, it’s often it’s the characters they tout as “morally grey” who get the most plot armor. Look at Illidan and Sylvanas. Look how much effort it took to kill off Garrosh.
