The LFG Tool was introduced in 2.0.1
Will we see it in tomorrow?
World of Warcraft Client Patch 2.0.1
Looking for Group Interface Tool
A new Looking For Group tool designed to assist players in finding groups for instanced dungeons and quests will now be available. This interface gives players the option to be added to a pool of other players also looking for a group, as a means to expedite the process. In addition, players will also be able to search for additional members in situations where they have a group and are simply looking to find more players. For a complete overview of this new interface, please take a moment and read the information contained on our comprehensive Looking for Group preview.

Needs to be. They said it won’t be exactly like the one we had in TBC though (still won’t be automated)… I’m really interested to see what it will be like
I expect it to be what is used for m+ in retail.

That is a completely different experience. I hope that isn’t the case.

It’s the same function as the one we had in TBC with a better interface.

No, we asked for classic tbc, not retail, you want your lfg tool? retail is your game

It was in the game during TBC.

No it would be significantly different. The ease of group making if you could quantify it (like you can temperature) would be different than the group finder in BC (BC being harder to make groups). This friction causes beneficial social ripple effects.
Teaching a tank how to tank can be faster than finding another one. That’s a huge deal. It’s crucial that that remains the case.

Players dont know what they want, When WOTLK Came out, it was an living example. Classic wow gave players what they needed. Given the choice, players will always maximize the fun out of their experience.

Exactly, the key is to build the game around the maximization such that the fun is the result.

and the LFG tool isnt going to implement that fun
Well, removing it would. I’m actually of the opinion that there shouldn’t have been one in BC at all.
I definitely want retail LFG. It makes making and searching for groups much easier than staring at scrolling text.

if you dont have the patience to talk to people to form a group then what are u doing on tbc?

Hitting a spam macro every 20 seconds isn’t talking with people.

No but coordinating CC is. And building the group, asking about specs, gear, etc is breaking the ice with your group members.

Sure, and that can be done regardless of how the group is formed.
