Is the Heroic Upgrade worth the content?

I’m a 2004 vanilla player straight through until Cata. I’ve done the leveling ‘experience’ over tons of characters, and it’s exhausting at this point.

For anyone that has purchased the upgrade packages, do you feel there was value in the $50 price tag past just the boost to 70?

I’m torn between spending another week plus leveling a character, or just getting it done now.

Leveling experience is terrible right now. But I don’t think Blizzard deserves the money either.

50-50?

Darn it, you’re not helping, :grinning:

I’m sitting here with the glime, fruit, apple…whatever its called…that guides you through the fastest leveling routes. And that all fine…sure…if you had a mount! It still takes way to long to get from point a to point b even with a speed leveling guide. Least till you get a mount.

Does the $50 upgrade pack least include decent gear to start off with, a decent mount, and gold? I’m instantly gonna replace gear and mounts, but cant really function at 70 with nothing.

I read that you get all the flightpaths unlocked in pre-60 zones, outlands, and northend. That true?

You get full gear sets for every spec (if there are multiple, e.g. paladins get gear for ret, holy and prot), any class based and raced based ground mounts, plus a basic flying mount. your weapons skills are leveled and you have every known spell/ability up to 70 and you get up to expert riding (225) and then I think 20 gold. Essentially you can roll directly from the boost right into northrend without any issues.

EDIT: The gear sets aren’t great and you will be upgrading them pretty quickly, but are enough to consume the entry level content in Wrath.

EDIT 2: all flight paths in the old world and unlocked, I have not checked outland but I would assume so.

Thank you for the detailed response!

And you get 100 gold not 20.

My bad. Your close enough to 70 I’d say just afk in AV for a couple days and you’ll ding 70 in no time. Save the $$$.

I would personally wait till the boost goes on sale further.

For the TBC boost it went on sale a couple months after they initially put it up, I assume once DF drops they’ll maybe discount the prices.

To answer the real question about whether or not to boost your level 60 character…maybe not worth it. You only need 8 levels to get to Northrend. What you do, is boost another character on a different account (if you have friends/family that play wow). Paladin or druid are probably your best choices. Then you can use that level 70 to assist your current character leveling up quickly. Could probably knock out the 8 levels over a weekend.

This character im posting on is on Classic Era servers. Im lvling a lvl 12 warlock in WotLK, so i have a long way to go.

I would do it in a heartbeat, personally. Saves you days of played time. Just make sure you do it on a class you’ll be happy with.

I think the boost with the 30 days of game time was worth it. Basically only paying $35 to skip a month of constant grinding.

Outland is included. Verified.

The boost let me skip straight to Northrend.

I just boosted my rogue purely from this reason. I leveled my pally by hand and many other dps casters.

It’s worth it man if leveling is making you feel exhausted spend the money you save time and energy. Only do the leveling 1-70 if it’s relaxing and makes you happy.

You are gonna get SMOKED in world pvp because the gear you get is horrendous. Someone on your own faction might send you a whisper and it’ll kill you. That’s how bad the gear is lol.
But it’s extremely good to instantly hop into northrend and get going right when you set up your key bindings.

I would recommend. The leveling is a slog. You’ll find maybe ONE dungeon run 1-70. There’s very very little players leveling under lvl 70. (Depending on server of course)

100% worth it

The value added is ridiculous, Yes massive.

If RDF were to be added I would say it was a waste of money to boost, because leveling would be fun. Without RDF, boosting is the only way to go for most players.

It is a shame Blizzard is killing WOTLK like this.

Just to jump on this: Blizzard usually does a “Black Friday” sale so chances are it may be part of that sale.

Yeah I think at the current price it’s not worth it tbh, I’d max pay $25-30 for it and even that’s kinda pushing it.

It maybe would’ve been worth $50-60 had it been a Lv 78 boost but having to do the whole 70-80 grind again is not fun at all.
