Well, i quit Retail. Im at Classic atm. Somehow, even with less players, Classic seems more alive. I see more people around, questing, inviting por DG/raid and for trades and being talkitive.
After 14 years playing, im sad to see Retail on this situation. It isn’t a RPG anymore. Scaling killed the rpg aspect.
Won’t even mention the “sloggyness” and bloated the grindy systems and mechanics that the game have now is.
They forgot to focus on the game core and what made the game so big, and instead they keep insisting on creating millions of mini-things and systems that only delay gameplay fluidity and keeps the Fun aspect away.
There is tons of people criticizing some aspects of game and just some tiny minority disagreeing with the vast majority. When i say criticizing , it’s about customer reviews about the product the company offers, hoping they’ll improve. If a high number of paying customers isn’t happy with it, then something is wrong.
Hope Blizzard, as a company, understand the paying customers won’t continue to pay if they don’t listen to their criticism. I mean, constructive criticism.
I’m looking forward for Classic TBC. Im eager to play it,
That’s what I do now too while I still have game time left. Not only is classic less “go go go” but people are way nicer and more relaxed. The entire scaling failure and esports thing in retail completely destroyed it.
we had about 40 people on every day. now we struggle to fill 20 for raid. People get burned out on not getting gear. having to farm choreghast having to farm the maw dailies.
All this for no character progression. literally zero progress.
no wonder they all left for better, finished games.
That is only popular day, its weekly resets, by Sun Mon it’s dead again, people just dont want to fall behind in renown as there is no catch up system for it.
o.O what are you talking about? there’s been a renown catch up system since day 1 of shadowlands, how else do you think people are getting their alts up to the same renown level as their main in just <2 weeks (or <1 week if they no life it), versus 2 months that our mains have done so far since start of SL.
As for me, when I leveled this alt back when renown was ~16, easily did up to renown 8 in just the first week on the side, 8 the following. Could of one weeked it but I didn’t spend all my time on this toon, just during free time when not on my main.
Here’s a guide all about how to catch up on renown if you’re leveling an alt, or if you skipped a week or two on your main:
I wouldn’t be surprised if it is dropping. This expansion really needed to hit it out of the park after the borefest that BFA was, and it failed to do so.
Well Preach’s mythic raiding guild just disbanded the same night they killed Mythic Denathrius supposedly due to better games being out there to be played and having reached their goals with the kill. We won’t know more until either later today or tomorrow if that’s accurate but if it is that’s pretty telling that an xpac designed to keep mythic level players happy is failing to do so, along with all the other types of players now dissatisfied.
I all honesty for as challenging and how much prep a big part of the content is just simply unrewarding.
Nothing like flasking, food, oils/stones for a M+ only to get nothing or 35 anima. Then the long awaited week comes for your vault… only to get a selection of crap that you A. Already have. Or it gives you a higher ilvl of what you already have.
It’s never the BiS stuff either always some weird trinket you have never seen drop or even care about. Or rings… always f’ing accessories. I was 205 ilvl at one point with my lowest piece a pair of boots that were 168 because in that entire span of time of doing CN N/ CN H and M+ I never once got a boot upgrade… this of course was before all the covenant stuff was available to be upgraded to 197.
But ya people are tired of putting in alot of effort for literally nothing in return. It costs thousands of gold to do those runs and you get nothing thats a big feelsbadman.
I think people are over it. PS. make the other tanks actually able to tank like VDH/BM… actually stupid that leather tanks are mitigating more damage than plate tanks. What as)!backwards crap is going on right now.
They get the devs to tailor the game during beta (“Blizzard is listening this time”) to how they want to play the game. Then they disband after the first raid.
You are supposed to IMAGINE what your character is saying in those moments… I can’t believe you don’t understand this aspect of the silent protagonist. No wonder your experience feels hollow. No wonder you feel jaded toward gaming and characters like Crono.
That’s kinda sad not going to lie. I’m not even ridiculing you either, just you’ve been missing out by doing it wrong.
Of course, if they listen to the common players, you’d do LFR, kill one boss, and get 14 BiS drops.
The moral of this story is that J Allen Black was basically right in his principle of: “you think you do, but you don’t.” Players all think they know what they want and how to fix WoW - but if 90% of their feedback was taken, the game would be an unplayable mess.
There’s always that initial subscription buy in and then it dies down after. I would say from my perspective there’s been way more friends that have come back than have left. Guilds don’t die because of expansions: they die from player attrition and usually guild drama in one way or another.
For me: gearing is WAY TOO EASY this expansion. They made PvP gearing too good because I grinded 2100 rating and between my GV rewards I’m already sitting at iLvl 224 in one of my gear sets. I’m 2-3 pieces away from being all 226 and now I have to sit around for 3-4 months waiting for the next patch?
Blizzard is doing their Q4 earnings this Thursday so we’ll find out how much of a hit or bust Shadowlands was.
Taken from that post you posted. None of these methods are verified to be 100% reliable at giving catch-up Renown, although the World Boss seems to be the most consistent:
If you’re talking about the RnG catch up system, then that’s a no for me, I have had it with the RnG.
I have leveled several alt myself 5 dungeons no renowned, 4 callings, you guessed it no renown. Like I said there is no catch up system.
Can’t speak for the games actual population but my guild basically weathered the entirety of BFA but shriveled up in the face of SL’s gates and waits.
Personally speaking iv seen all the things I wanted to see, enjoyed all the things I wanted to enjoy - now I am paying to play with gold or I would have taken a hiatus till a big patch came out.
How the hell does “wanting an alternative path to progressions” like previous expacs offered, or wanting to be rewarded sufficiently become “give me all the loot immediately!”
Because players who make this argument lack imagination.
Like for example when I play a CRPG like Kingmaker; I don’t go for BiS because my characters don’t need it, rather I can play all the content I want without it, because the game allows me to build a character off the choices and the story not the gear.
WoW isn’t a RPG. It’s essentially a 3rd person loot game where there’s only 1 BiS gear and that’s it. There’s only 3 types of content and really 2 out of the 3 use the same items.
The game lacks innovation and creativity, and honestly MMOs for a while have lacked this.
For Blizzard, Q4 will include WoW pre-orders and launch for retail, Naxx for Classic. It’s going to be rosy picture for WoW (better be because its baked in already, lol) but who knows about OW and HS. I’m thinking with Naxx done and Oribos and the other Shadowland zones emptying out, Q1 and Q2 should be more interesting. Maybe they leak some tidbits like DI before virtual Blizzcon.
