WoD lost about 500k subs per month after launch and 6 months in Blizzard stopped reporting sub numbers. They never reported them again, either. Yes, WoD is the best metric for “horrible player loss rates”.
I left at the end of week two. I really don’t like having Covenant abilities, conduits, and soulbinds sit on top of class specs, talents, gear, enchantments, and gems. It’s all just to much!
I could have maybe enjoyed having a single Covenant ability. But once again Blizzard has worked to make their own game play greatly unbalanced and feel bad as a player.
Shadowlands has a lot of great improvements over BfA. It’s at least at a level you would expect for a company that was once known for quality games, but these (unbalanced and borrowed power) Diablo like Covenant game systems have made me stopped playing Shadowlands.
I’ve noticed MassivelyOP has started putting up concerned columns about SL and its problems. I wonder if they’re hearing internal rumors of unhappy trends.
Lmfao, just happened to me on this character this week… I just logged out… This is my main… I did log in for a bit today to level up my Unholy DK… I just don’t feel like the reward/effort is there at all for the end game content… But, I love WoW, so I will just end up with a bunch of characters at around 200 ilvl range… Whatever
Yes, the population is dropping fast.
Solo/Casuals are reaching the ilvl cap for casual play.
The overwhelming majority of these players dont see Mythic Raids being worth the effort for the ilvl gain they’d get, so they wont do them.
Most ppl will hit ilvl 215-220 and itll be a brick wall when they do.
On top of that, PvP balance is polarizingly horrible. Causing many PvPers to leave the game. (MW, DH, and DK, for example nearly arent even allowed to PvP AT ALL because the community is so hyper aware of how bad they are)
Even still, these problems dont even appear to be on Blizzards radar, which is even more concerning, and more cause for people to jump ship.
Problem is that the devs have to make a game appealing for the masses, not just for themselves or a niche audience.
right i log in to get my gold and log out
I’m having a hard time staying logged in. I logged on… loaded my 48 alt… saw that I had to do the maw intro again… logged off… Sitting idle in Oribos on this main… bored. Logged off.
The current dev team has done a great job of killing m+ dungeons and they are pretty much all friends and myself did… pugs seem fewer and fewer now and if ur not a meta ranged … gl
I have over 50 +10 HoA clears, and i still get denied from HoA because im a DK.
But hey, lets tune mission tables not the classes that people have to play the game as.
God forbid my companions cant clear a +5 anima mission.(Even though they never have failed)
Yeah man. My buddies that encouraged me to buy Shadowlands has gone awol. He said, “Get to 60, I’ll tank / run you through M+ with Jack on Heals.” Both are no where to be seen. There goes my chance of that.
You’re correct, that entirely a guess, just saying. There’s no way there’s less than 1 million worldwide, so please stop with you Blizzard hatred, because it’s obvious that you think that if the game isn’t exactly what you want, then it’s trash.
Yeah that is why I take the server list showing ‘full’ servers with a grain of salt. Since ‘full’ is no indicator on activity or general social health of the server. Part of me wishes we had FF14’s ability to hop servers without needing to pay to play with different server communities. Lately I have seen more people from CRZ from other servers too and my server is a ‘full’ server(getting CRZ merged with non-Rp servers too).
Also off topic but why is there not a skip for the maw intro yet? You get nothing of value from it… and it is extremely tedious doing it for multiple alts.
I think most of us like the game.
We’re just dissapointed with the incompetence of the balance team.
Or atleast thats my position.
I love WoW.
I HATE that SOMEHOW this class still has pre-existing restrictions on Death Strike from a period where bloated stats were causing Death Strike to be too strong.
They squished the stats, but didnt revert this nerf. Which has essentially banished my class from 2v2’s, WPvP, duels, and doesnt put us in a good position in 3’s either. How this hasnt been hotfixed yet is insane.
the games is far from dyeing.
what you see now is what was wow before,
content cleared less people playing it.
when next patch it, a increase number of player will come back to complet it.
duting legion and bfa you could not do that because the games did not want you to stop playing and was putting a list of chore everyday.
now that list is weekly but not mandatory because when came back theire is a catch up to bring u back into action, when before you were penalised for doing so.
This is why I won’t level my alt. She’s stuck at the maw intro right after the Ice Crown junk.
And yet, every single patch, fewer people come back. That is a statistical fact of every single expansion since Arthas was killed on 25 man. Ignoring the fact or saying “No” a lot does not change the fact. I love the game, but the population gets smaller every time. This expansion servers stopped being full faster than BFA which happened much faster than Legion. There are plenty of population sites out there, and the MAUs in the sales call in May will be very telling. I am not bashing the game, but I am being realistic.
All that slow walking stuff and no mounting is so disheartening for a new alt. I never understood why they would want to slow stuff down like they do.
Sadly Cynvalla, I think the reason is $. You know, I understand that being a company in all, as companies need money to survive, but a balance needs to be established between company financial retention, and customer satisfaction.
If a burger joint sold me a burger that wasn’t good enough, I know most of us wouldn’t go back to order that same burger. There should always be a balance between product, and consumer. That’s the relationship in business. I feel blizzard has really given the consumers a blind eye this round.
Which makes me sad as I do love WoW a lot.
It just feels evident that they are pinching us everywhere we go here. There is a lot of that mandatory slow speed travel throughout Shadowlands. It’s very noticeable in Bastion with the rock formations that require you to circle around in order to get above. Worst place in Shadowlands to farm. I try and travel as little as possible in the game right now because of the travel time sinks, and since I avoid all the travel time sinks, this brings me right back to the maw with an alt, and how that is a no go at this point.
My experience has been the opposite. This is the first one since Wrath where I’ve stuck around, made new friends and felt generally enthused for the experience.
