Maybe im doing it wrong. My afflic lock (and her blueberry) get razed very quickly if I pull… mmm… five mobs at parity.
I’ve never heard anyone suggest that before. Maybe that’s something kids would say to each other “you’re an adult!” but generally to be considered an adult is a compliment.

You would need insane gear to solo them, if they are ccable then you MIGHT be able to solo but chances are you are gonna get 1 tapped. But rares in general, yes you can solo them easily

The OP asked if the Evoker is a good soloing class. It seems to be in the mage range - which is to say: Not very good.
Doubtful they are super squishy. They melt like butter
With pets though. Can a no pet Warlock or Hunter solo as effectively? I dont think so. Ele with no guardian?
Question: How well do shadow priests solo those group quests? If the mobs cant be snared, Mages go down like a sack of rocks lol.

What does mail wearing have to do with it? 
Warlocks wear cloth(lower armor than mail) and are capable of soloing a rare with enough gear.
Evoker doesn’t really have that type of sustain.

They aren’t a solo class, period. You will suffer because of 25 cast range and once you start taking damage you will die. Mobs that are immune to CC will beat your face in and you will feel like its a dark souls boss NG+7. Don’t bother with evoker for solo play unless your ok with ground tanking a lot.

My goodness. Those pesky DK’s. They have been soloing stuff other classes couldn’t since the beginning.
I do wish evoker could use shields like a shaman. They can already use off-hands and one handers, so a shield wouldn’t be a big stretch. It would give the option of fortifying yourself in solo content, and frankly there aren’t enough classes that use shields.
So many transmogs locked to so few classes. A mere 3 out of 13.
As children if you know they are children, you don’t know they are so you should address them as adults.

armor type is meaningless in the current game except to split the loot tables up
I think it’s difficult to know how powerful Evoker is without at least full Mythic dungeon gear on, but they’ll likely reach their full potential with Heroic raiding gear on. They’ll probably be okayish in leveling gear is my guess.

Higher armor means melee attacks hurt less.
sure, but most of the abilities you actually have to watch out for aren’t plain old physical damage melee attacks
Every class should be able to solo FIVE man content. Good.
I think all specs / classes should be able to solo group quests that are meant for a group of five players.
I would support raid scaling for soloing every raid in the game as well. It would improve WoW dramatically for me. Might even get me to resubscribe.
