Is the Evoker a powerful solo class?

I was doing it as a 58

those mobs are no joke and they are the very first mobs you encounter. I know it will get nerfed or at least as of right now I think it will get nerfed unless this changes

Blizz NUKED xp required to level 50 to 60
(the number on the left is how much xp you need to ding in SL, the number on the right is how much you’ll need in DF)

That means most players will ding 58 before they even finish Bastion. If a new player dings 58, wear Bastion quest greens and then heads off to DF with the current tuning in place those mobs are going to stomp them into the ground

nods

I have not gotten the hang of using hover and didn’t talent for the slows. So that would seem to explain my experience.

Usually they give a bunch of good greens right away in the first few quests.

Else, that transition is going to be painful. A mail wearing class with not much in the way of defensives…hmm.

They won’t be able to do the first quest!
A freshly minted wow player? Like, Dragonflight is their first time playing? They are going to get annihilated lol.

Its the opposite of the DK effect. The class appears weak at first, keeping the numbers down - then when players get into the meat of the first raid - the true power of the class is revealed!

I don’t think that’s going to work because the wow community looks at statistics, logs and they go off word of mouth a lot. Soon as people start hitting 70 those YouTube videos are going to come out “OMG EVOKER DAMAGE IS OP!!! WATCH ME KILL A CAVE OF KOBOLDS WITH ONE BUTTON!!!” get a gazillion views and flood the game with Evokers lol.

Oh its going to happen. Theres no way the class is going to be weak - it has a lot of abilities that work well in group settings that dont really do anything to enhance solo play.

I would be surprised if Evokers werent the meta healer in either M+ or raiding.

New, aren’t you?

Wait to you see them using the royal ‘we’ to give themselves consequence, misusing words to exaggerate an issue, stating causation where there isn’t even correlation, confusing things like ‘need’ and ‘want’, using an embarrassing level of hyperbole, ect.

This place is a circus in desperate need of some lion tamers.

I KNOW!

:unamused:

I was looking through the talents like … all of this is trash

There’s so many “do stuff to teammates” talents it’s crazy. But I have my build now :]

Actually that’s a lie, I need 70 templates to finish it as my Evoker is only 60.

Keep in mind the prelaunch will provide some high lv catch up gear. 280 I’ve heard. So plan accordingly. Even if you don’t feel like playing a class right away, use the prelaunch event to set a character up for later and f you can.

Beta is tough because there isn’t much prep you can do for a fresh character, especially with an empty ah and no reliable team to help you gear consistently unless you find or forge me one with other lucky beta members.

I imagine I’ll have fewer difficulties than I have now upon launch of the retail version.

The will be able to solo in the same way frost mage is, kiting and slows. They are pretty fragile when they get hit, but are decently good at not getting hit in the 1st place.

So not a class that can solo 3-5 man group quests as the OP had asked, much like a mage.

What on earth are you on about?

Youre in a hurry to trip over yourself.

Kids, do need education. Literally.

You’ve already tripped.

Calling people kids is insulting.

It means you can do it with enough mechanical skill, but not easily.

Children?
Younglings?
Minors?
Tax-breaks?

What is the appropriate term for those under the legal age of majority?

Implying an adult is not an adult is insulting.

Armor type has zero to do with being able to solo group content. Every armor type in the game has a class that can solo bosses.

case and point: warlock is arguably the tankiest class in the game.
