Is The Current Boosting Method In Dragonflight Bannable?

As the title asks, can you be banned for getting boosted for doing the current dragonflight boosting method, even if you only use in-game methods of payment? Just wondering because I had a group say they had 1 free spot left so I joined them on an alt. Got a little over halfway to the spot when they started asking me for gold. I told them they said it was free so I’m expecting free, and they replied with some stuff that just made the whole thing seem sketch so I just left. Didn’t feel like getting mass reported by the boosters for not paying for their “free” boost.

“One free spot” wasn’t talking about the price, they mean they have one spot in their party left (before it becomes a raid and nobody gets xp). However, I think that was a poor choice of words. They could have just as easily said they have one spot left.

So the current AFK boosting, as long as there is no RMT (Real Money Transaction) is perfectly within the bounds of allowable gameplay. Is it unethical? Sure. But the actual process of standing in a safe spot, while someone you are grouped with kills mobs, is actually fine.

However, with the current abuse of the Nokhud and Brackenhide Safe spots, I would venture a guess, that Blizzard is currently working on a way to remedy it. It definately was not intended for people to stand on a hut or a tree, while a Tank rounds up a bunch of LV70 elite mobs and solo’s them while you stand there.

I am guessing you are just trolling with this, as a free spot means an open spot in that context.

Although… if you get enough people to just keep joining boosting groups and saying that it was advertised as a free spot, you could make them pretty irritated.

They’re saying they have 1 free spot left, not that its free.

Dear OP,
If people are using the old bait and switch with you, then you should report them. What they did is against Blizzard’s ToS, and they are one of the reasons this game has gone to the dogs.

They cannot report you for not paying for a boost. That transactions is between you and them and Blizzard will want no part in it.

You can only get banned if you discussed the price and boost prior to run and if you received the run and didn’t pay

So. You thought four strangers, out of the kindness of their hearts, were going to power level you for free?

It’s like a sitcom that writes itself.

Lmao these are the people who struggle with heroic raiding.

First of all, says the guy posting on a level 11 alt. Post on your main or gtfo. Second its fine to make a transaction to be powerleveled, or carried through a +20, or carried through heroic Raszageth for AOTC, if you pay in gold like every one of those posts clarify.

To OP, it very much looks like you’re trolling. No shot you thought, “MAN! Lookie at these really nice people willing to just power level me for free…” Bro get out of here

What does my level have to do with what I said? You have almost nothing achieved on your account, idk why you’re talking down to me about anything.

I think OP is fully trolling cause he didn’t manage to scam some boosters into boosting him for free.

But I’m talking down to you because you hopped into some random thread to talk down to others by posting, “lMaO tHeSe aRe ThE pEoPlE wHo StRuGgLe WiTh HeRoIc RaIdInG”, on some level 11 alt. Thats what real life 2-inchers do

There are a lot of people out there that will offer these services, but want to “talk to you in discord” about it. Usually, they’re asking for real money. When real money is involved, thats when it becomes against the rules.
Those that are asking for gold are USUALLY within the rules (I say usually because there is always exceptions to the rule) as long as they arent doing some crazy exploit. However, it is an unsupported transaction. So if you dont pay or they kick you after you pay, Blizzard wont give anyone any gold or anything.

As for the free thing, I guess I can see how one could misunderstand. Its a bit of a stretch though. However, to avoid future confusion, it would be best for them to say “One spot open” or something like that.

I must admit, OP, your post sounds a bit trollish. Surely at some stage this group indicated what the runs would cost, either in a Premade Group ad or via discussion with you. No group is going to even send you a group invite unless you have been told the price and have accepted it.

And groups like that do not advertise free services. Now and then you will find Discord servers that organise things like AotC runs free of charge, as a public service, but I have never seen a boosting service offered free of charge.

Of the vague offchance that you are genuine I will say - nobody is going to report you for failing to take advantage of a boosting service. There is nothing in the rules against that.

On a related topic, boosting for levels wouldn’t be an issue if leveling wasn’t such a hindrance to the end game. WoW should just get rid of leveling altogether. It’s a complete waste of time in the context of the current state of the game.

How much faster can they make leveling before y’all quite crying lol. It’s a real hindrance when it takes no time at all lol.

I don’t see why it would be bannable. For years you could powerlevel people by parking them at the entrance to a dungeon and soloing it for them. I leveled most of my alts this way and didn’t get banned. This is much the same thing, just in the open world.

Lol if you gotta buy or sell a boost your just bad

I had a level 42 Warrior. Wanted to farm for a rare drop pet in Felwood but that needs level 52. So I quested and maybe 2 hours later I was farming. Not questing.

Still got so much XP I was level 56 not much later. Figured it wasnt going to work so pushed to 60. Then did the intro stuff and some WQ and now am 62 or 63.

20 levels in what felt like a few hours but was probably 6 or 8 hours all up.
