So, I’m on right now at 6 am which is obviously when most people are sleeping. I get that so you don’t need to reply a million times with how people are sleeping, working, whatever. I’m on a pretty high pop server and when I do /who priest 65-70, only 36 people come back as being online. This seems like a pretty ridiculously low number. That means only like maybe 500-800 are on during non peak hours.
People keep spouting how these mega servers have 10k people online but it doesn’t seem to be the case. The main reason it seems to be a concern is it’s getting very difficult to find groups during non peak hours every day so my guess is this will slowly translate to peak hours as well over time.
Do you think the expansion is going to hold up over the next year or so?

My server is still poppin. That said its TBC. give it another month at the most and it will flatline compared to what it is now.

7:30 AM Server Time.
Over 50 70s online.
Get outta here with your “sky is falling” gibberish.

Does it matter? Play until you feel.like you don’t want to anymore. Plenty enough people atm to experience content.
Why are you thinking of the future? Live in the now.

Okay so you’re looking at only 70’s, I specifically did priest 65-70 and it came back with 36. Priest is a medium popularity class so it’s a good representative.

Whitemane Horde. did a /who 65-70
50 online atm(not sure if that’s a listing limit). Admittedly populated server.
I think you have lost your mind at 6am today.

You have to do it by class otherwise of course it will come back as being more than 50. You have to narrow it down to get a better idea.
Over 50 again.
A ‘your server isn’t active at this hour’ issue. Which, given the server time, isn’t actually an issue.

I’d say TBC stumbled hard out of the gate. High amount of game breaking bugs, lack of Dev attention, no fixes for major issues like honor, class problems, gameplay etc… Blizz really blundered the launch. I mean they released TBC way too early and it’s still not ready and they did it to compete with Ashes of Creation since Retail is a flop. That is annoying.
I think there wasn’t the right hype for TBC due to severe misteps by Blizzard and we have had to fight tooth and nail the entire time with them. It’s honestly exhausting and understand why anyone leaves and just waits to come back next phase and hope everything is smoothed out.
It sucks if a player feels like they are wasting their time…Blizz needs to do better.

Well my server is full so there could only be like Faerlina or Whitemane that are more populated.
plenty of hunters, paladins, and warriors.
The only class that came back with less than 50, after I even adjusted to 65-69, were paladins. Horde side. 28 of them.
Neither of those servers, either. Full doesn’t mean what you seem to think it means.
So what server are you on?
for a game with lots of players is sure hard to get a grp going for dungeon.

From my understanding, the 65-70 is based off your layer alone.
I try looking at people in /who to see if i had switched layers or not and to know which layer i switched to.
Anyways, dont play on dead realms and you will have 50 players at all times
You’ve answered you own question, and yet…
You just bypass why it is quiet so you can…
Project the doom of the game.
If you want to group regularly, find a guild that has peeps online when you are. That seems to be the best fix.
I’m an early person as well. Seems quiet when I am on until people wake up, then it’s humming.
