You know that is what this entire thread is about - flagging based on whether you are right or wrong or people agree or disagree with you. It shouldn’t be restored because you are ‘right’, it should only be restored because you didn’t break the CoC.

by that same logic, it shouldnt be taken down AT ALL unless it actually violates the rules.

This really is no different than real life. People go to jail all the time and get out on bail until they can be proven guilty or innocent. The goal is to remove reported content until its nature can be determined. It is the lesser of two evils.

I wanted to say thank you to the GM for reviewing my post and restoring it to not allow these false flaggers to get away with it again. Let this be an example that this is very common on these forums (and also in game) and should be addressed. Thank you.

The sad thing is, they DID get away with it. They clicked 2 times, nothing happened to them, but you had to go thru a GM to have your post restored.

Actually it IS different. You don’t just “go to jail.” A DA has to be presented enough evidence to justify filing charges. If these charges are spurious you can and often DO succeed in civil litigation for harassment and abuse of power. Sometimes charges are thrown out during the hearing for lack of evidence. This is all before bail is set or you’re remanded to custody. There is no such justice here.

It depends on the state, “some are shorter periods,” but the longest police can detain you without pressing charges is 48-72 hours.

PS: Also filing a false police report is a felony. What happens to false flaggers? Nothing.

I was wondering why I was still scrolling through this thread after the other guy found the insensitive joke OP posted in someone else’s thread. Mokrawr is an awesome name and gave me a little chuckle, so thanks for that. I’m punching reply and bailing out!

Right here is where it is similar to have a post locked until review. The problem with false flaggers is that you have to prove the intent behind the flag before you can punish them.

Ive had 3-4 posts flagged then restored when a rational human reviews them. Some people just cant even

Except again, there has to be evidence to do even that. Call your lawyer the moment you’re arrested, he’ll file for an immediate release if they dont have the evidence to charge you.
