Is skinning/herbing another player's kill reportable?

This question is for classic and TBC classic WoW. If another player intentionally skins or herbs a mob you tagged first and killed knowing you are trying to skin or herb it yourself, is that considered something they can be reported for? This has happened to me so many times since classic released. Telling them to stop doesn’t work. They do it anyway. I will tag a mob, kill it, then another player will sit on top of it waiting for me to loot it so they can skin or herb it. This is very frustrating especially when the player won’t leave you alone and doesn’t it to you over and over again. Just would like some more information on this.

Its a jerk move but i dont think it breaks any rules unfortunately.

No, it’s not considered something reportable. In Classic, that’s just how it worked. That’s basically what people wanted back when they asked for Classic/TBC/etc. servers until such time that it was implemented that multiple people could skin the mob that was killed.

I thought it was a form of griefing. I thought I had heard something about it being mentioned a couple years back but couldn’t remember. To me it is griefing and basically a form of harassment especially when they follow you around and won’t leave you alone.

All they have to do is make it so where if you get the first hit then only you can skin or herb it. That sounds fair to me.

While it isn’t necessarily convenient for you, that is one of the perks of there being a whole world out there. Leave them and go and farm your things or level in a different area or zone. If they’re going to be ignorant and sit on a corpse while waiting for you to loot it? I honestly would leave it there unlooted and not kill anything they could skin in your place if you choose not to move elsewhere. It doesn’t help to the tune of herbing, but you don’t have to help them gather skins at least.

I’m sorry you’ve got That Guy driving you nuts, but you do have options - even if like I said, it’s not convenient or fair to you.

It’s not. Blizzard generally defines griefing as “doing something I don’t like”. In this game you are gonna run across all sorts. Some are very awesome, and some that are totally reprehensible. It’s unfortunate that you ran into the later. Best advice is to do your herbing and skinning elsewhere, switching it up from time to time.

Darth and Perl are correct. While it is a bit rude - it’s not against the rules. That’s how those systems worked at the time of that content so it has been maintained with the Classic version of the game.

That said, there have been Quality of Life changes made to Classic in other cases. If that’s something you’d like to see changed, you could start by making a suggestion to the game team.

You could use the in-game feedback form to pass that along, or post on the Classic discussion forums.

If I am skinning/herbing a person’s kill, I generally ask if they are fine with it, it does stink however you had a not so polite person do that.

When I skin or what ever in classic, I just wait until the person that killed it walked away. If I see a bunch of corpses and they are off doing something else, it looks like free skins time.

If they are still standing over something, no way, they got there first.

If someone tries to grief me over my own kills? I’ll just wait to loot. I’ve only had that happen a few times though. Then when they wander off, I run back to loot and skin my own kills.

It should be. I’ve had numerous people follow me around since I started playing WoW and skin/herb mobs I’ve killed or nodes/herbs I started herbing first only to get the ‘you can’t loot that’ series of ‘errors’.

You would need to post in Classic General Discussion and the ones who take that feedback don’t take it from Customer Support and the SFAs here are not liaisons with them.

#1 - I am replying to a thread in THIS forum.

#2 - The game team gives zero cares about what the player base want s only what make the bosses happy… MORE MONEY!

#3 - you don’t appear to work for blizzard so how about you keep your ‘suggestions’ of where I can and can’t comment to yourself. That is extremely TOXIC behaviour!

I have already edited out your use of inappropriate language once and now again. I would rather not suspend your posting privileges, Brunello. Please stop using inappropriate language. Our policies cover both clear and masked language.

Which is fine, but the advice is sound. If you wish to provide feedback about the game the best way to do that is to submit a suggestion so our Developers can see it.

It is true that the goal of any business is actually to make money, that isn’t such a shocking revelation. However, the Game Team cares a great deal about the games they develop. That is rather the point for many of them, to make games they enjoy playing themselves. Having a profitable game is how we keep being able to make them.

The feedback/suggestions provided are part of game development and though not every suggestion may make it into the game, that doesn’t mean that the opinion and desire behind it isn’t valid.

Other players may post in any thread they wish, as well as respond to anyone they want, as long as they abide by the Code of Conduct. Also, providing advice or otherwise responding to a thread isn’t toxic behavior. It is actually extremely helping. Responding the way you have is more in line of what would be considered TOXIC.

I think this one has been asked and answered so I’m going to lock it up. Thank you, all.
