It specifically states multiboxing in that article you posted, you must not have read it.
As the nutters come up with mechanical means to get around this ban, slowly blizzard will come around and ban multiboxers that are doing it in ways that negatively affect the gameplay of others.
It’s a good start, but blizzard needs to fully ban controlling more than one toon at once, if you wanna waste your time alt tabbing between multiple toons, more power to you. It will get old real quick.

Automation as defined by the dictionary isn’t cheating, otherwise a lot of addons would be banned

No. I said multiboxing isn’t cheating. The software ban is mostly against bots. Bots are cheating.
Just because someone multiboxes doesn’t mean they’re cheating.
