Is Shadow Lands saved because of the recent multiboxing ban?

it really ruined my fantasy immersion going out in the world and seeing someone playing 50 characters at once. I was swiftly reminded that the fantasy game I love is no longer innocent because some cheaters wanted an unfair advantage over normal players. It doesn’t help blizzard allowed this behavior for a long time, but for Shadow Lands it seems like they are finally trying to listen to their player base. The recent news got me so excited, I resubbed and purchased Shadow Lands the moment I read it.

Multiboxing wasn’t banned.

Multiboxing never had any real effect on the overall game or the community.

It was just an occasional nuisance if you wound up running into one.

Sorry you must have missed the memo. There is a updated Blizzard policy that states multiboxing is banned.

I doubt it.

Even now the diehard multi-boxers would be looking for new ways to make their setup work.

This right here.

Wrong.

There’s updated policy that states a certain type of software is banned. Nowhere does it state multiboxing is banned.

Other than in pvp I never really understood the complaints about multiboxers.

It really hurts to see that this is the community Blizzard defended for 16 years. Openly stating they are already looking for new methods to cheat. What difference is there between software and hardware if the end gameplay result is the same. The ban was aimed at multibox cheaters.

All this. Minor nuisance at most. Easy to avoid. I’ve seen definitely less than 14 in about as many years. Their impact is greatly exaggerated on these forums.

Nazjatar and noherbs ticked me off. And so did attempting to quest in Stormsong and Drustvar. They got out of hand after a while, imo.

No, it won’t save shadowlands and that is silly to resub because input software got banned.

No one is cheating.

Also wrong. It was aimed at botters. Perhaps you should actually do some research first.

I read a lot of people saying that about herbing in Naztajar, but I never really saw a lot of them. Maybe a few here or there. Probably just luck.

You should use your brain. Blizzard isn’t going to ban off an entire community because of botters. Some form of multiboxing is just the same as botting. Its a win win for Blizzard.

Maybe. My guildies and I could never get herbs out there. And we’re ona dead server. It sucked. All those stupid flying birds in top of each other.

I’m not the one who isn’t thinking logically.

Multiboxing wasn’t banned. Period.

Ah the typical purposely being dense response. Its quite clear my posts are referring to the automation cheating gameplay which popularized it. So yes multiboxing in a way, is indeed banned.

I never saw anyone playing 50 characters at once. I guess there are some people who have done that but we are unlikely to ever see it again…so perhaps treasure your unique experience. :sunglasses:

And as for it breaking immersion, some of the nonsense that is coughed out on the various chat channels does a far better job of doing that for me.

I’m glad you have rejoined the game and hope you enjoy it. Beyond that, not a lot to say that hasn’t already been said many, many times.
