No one who goes to High School dances is cool.
Lol im putting my money on classic. Have you seen the shards and pop types in the browser. Its insane
More people playing classic than retail probably. Did China get Classic?
This sounds exactly like playing on a normal server a turning on your PvP flag. By default no PvP, but you can choose to PvP.
What I liked about real PvP servers was it was more difficult and challenging completing quests because of the possibility of getting ganked. Its the fear that helps make it exciting. If people can just say I wont enable PvP because I want to complete some quests, it takes away from the fun and cheapens the accomplishment IMHO.
Unfortunately, I think Blizz changed the game to make it more easy and convenient, largely at the request of the players, and as a result the game seems boring and accomplishments are unsatisfying. I blame the state of retail on game design by mob rule. The players thought they wanted these changes in retail, but they really didnt as the game ended up way too easy and boring (again IMHO).
Im talking about our servers not eu or china
That sure sounds like fun.
Complaining about gameplay while playing classic, when you have to auto attack for damage for the first 30 lvls, and your rotation at max lvl is pressing 123 (1-2 if youre a frost mage or ret) with GCD twice as long as bfa.
I am now level 15 in Classic. But I am not in a hurry.
After some hours of leveling in Classic, I took a break.
I log in to BFA. Performed AD +9… okay. Weekly Quest is Battle Pets so I played like 6 games… I lose 3 but I won 3… not bad. Then I did 1 daily emissary. I saw less people in Boralus but it’s far from dead.
I am playing both. There is now 2 WoW games. And that is a good thing. It’s a win for me… a win for Blizz.
Or maybe because the numbers shouldn’t mean anything to players? Why does the number of people who play the game matter to anyone other than the developers who have to plan server allotment. You weird people who think they know what the numbers are tend to be the tinfoil hat types so I won’t bother trying to talk you out of your delusion, but seriously… who cares?
That’s funny cuz “You think you do, but you don’t” Is exactly what they said about Classic.
Retail caters and appeals to the bottom 80-90% of the player base, classic got a lot of things right when rpgs are considered but some of those things like the time investment/difficulty of them is exactly the reason why we have BFA now.
I’ve seen dozens apon dozens of threads of people complaining about not getting upgrades when all they do is world quests/lfr/warfronts, well you actually need to do dungeons/raids in classic to gear as it’s going back to the raid or die mentality when gear progression is concerned.
With live for 8.1.5 you literally skipped lfr/norm/heroic BOD gearing progression just doing wq/warfronts, you get your weekly cache for barely any effort which is surprising when I hear some people can’t even deplete a 10+ key once a week because they themselves are bad or are incapable of finding a group, most people I’ve talked to that are in this bracket are mostly lazy or lack the ability to find a guild or a group of friends, albeit BFA has spawned the anti social participation reward crowd so that doesn’t exactly make it any easier either.
I see classic dying off in a few months for at least the bottom 50% of the player base, the 30-40% above that may hit lvl 60 then realize there’s nothing to do outside of instances other than grinding rep. In 6 months to a year there will be very little of a player base that isn’t raiding I’m sure. Mostly private server players and those that either played vanilla already or those that are capable of doing so, also those that missed out on the original naxx.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m having a blast, tons of nostalgia and hyped about doing all the old content on the same page with everyone else, well at least with the top 20% anyway. I wasn’t planning on raiding but I will probably do zg at least, one of the most enjoyable raids I’ve experienced along with ZA. Gonna be pissed if I get the zullian tiger in classic when I’ve been waiting with millions of gold on live for it to show up on the BMAH though. Also miss having at least a vendor mount not to mention my ah mount lol, if you thought anything in bfa was difficult/time consuming wait til you quest in westfall and have to fly back n forth between sw/redridge/lochmodan like a dozen times. 90% of your time in this game will be spent running to your objective whether that’s dungeons/raids/quests/ah.
Look, if retail was dead, and unprofitable they wouldnt have put funds into classic.
Actually that would be a reason for them to put funds into classic. Having it tied to retail account boosts their numbers to look better when all the lapsed accounts reactivate for classic.
Some people will look really silly if Classic winds up having less players than WoW’s worst expansion after a few months.
The inverse won’t really hold because most retailers agree BFA sucks.
Retail was catered and overcatered to those exact players, I don’t see the majority of them staying on classic for long let alone making it to 60. There’s nothing to do outside of raid/dungeons/bgs, it seems people enjoy the mind numbing dailies/wq/warfronts/islands and crap that seem to have been a big hit in BFA according to dozens of threads I’ve read over the last 6 months. BFA catered to the anti social solo player casual, classic caters to the raid or die crowd which is why I don’t understand the hype, the only people I would think would be hyped would be the private server players and those that want to clear naxx cause they missed it the first time round.
Retail’s dead to me and that’s all that matters
BFA doesn’t cater to anyone is the problem.
They clearly ignored a ton of Legion feedback when producing BFA.
Nobody wanted more pruning, more AP grinding, more loot RNG, more pathfinder, etc etc etc.
Retail is 2nd dumpster fire. I’ll be honest Retail feels like a switch game to me or a mobile game at way it stands. Hopefully next x-pac is good but Classic has me. Old memories. Crafting and farming things to make my leveling easier so far it has been 100 times better due to well professions matter again and classes are unique and bring fun tool kits.
It over caters to the casual that complains they have a job and can’t prioritize their time to play wow, they sit there all day and enjoy doing strictly wq/warfronts/lfr, then come onto forums and complain about not getting upgrades from the same content they’ve done since launch. You can’t say it doesn’t overcater to casuals, deplete a 10 key for little to no effort get a free 440 piece at the end of the week, do 30 minutes of world quests get a full set of gear, artifact knowledge reduction every week to cut down on the grind, LFR enough said there “afk loot leave”.
Don’t get me wrong I couldn’t care less if you want to play like this, you’re the majority of my income when gold sales and not knowing how the ah works and you have my thanks if anyone fits into this category of player. Made 20+ million gold in like 6 months, which doesn’t even compare to people making a cool million every day, heck even every week at the most.
Popped in quick on retail. Classic killed my guild’s raiding lol
Yeah I’m sure people are burned out, it’s not ruining my guilds raiding but yeah I was confident it would of others.
