I mean that’s actually kind right. You usually don’t see higher viewership Twitch than a game has players. It’s a pretty good indication of the popularity of the game. The AGDQ example isn’t a good one so I don’t think that counts. I can’t find your other example there’s too many posts to go through. He’s wrong that he said NEVER but otherwise it’s pretty much consistent.
Retail is pretty much done; I wouldn’t be surprised if they hold back the next expansion and just work on Classic development. Raids after Naxx, new zones, etc.
The other example was from 30 seconds browsing the link provided by another, Siege had something like 186k peak viewers but only 170-174k peak players. So immediately its refuted. But even before we look at what I provided, he provided nothing to back up his claim other than “hearsay.” As well, why is AGDQ not a good example. He says it doesnt happen. Well, there, it does happen. This launch is basically an event like AGDQ. A lot watching, way less playing. We know less were playing, because the queues were insane.
Why would they change anything? If they add new dungeons and raids it’s no longer Classic. I wouldn’t be surprised if we get some sort of TBC server announcement around Blizzcon though.
LOL… so delusional. This carnival ride will be over by november. Classic is a vacation (like going to Iraq for Christmas) from the perceived issues with retail. Only the truly masochistic or unabashedly stubborn will still be playing classic a year from now
I think youre pretty wrong about that. All the other crap aside in this thread, classic will, and does, have a hardcore fanbase. Another thing to think of, retail players will come and dabble in here throughout their sub. I know some in my guild have no desire to stick here full time, but already talk about playing around in classic during content droughts of live. They are excited to have another playground to enjoy, in a sense.

That data is probably during a tournament. Like I keep saying I’m not defending some crazy opinion that the popularity of classics release means retail is dead but, I do believe in the estimated sub numbers because they make sense with the data we have.
But given that WoW expansions are a complete gear reset, they can simply provide new servers that play to say BC or WotLK. Then simply allow a person to copy(not move) their character from say a Classic Server to a BC Server.
There is no reason they would need to take a Classic Server and ever turn it into anything else.
So wait, tournaments dont count? You mean events, something like ohh… the launch of a game are excluded from this now too? Sorry, I didnt know so many stipulations came with “its never happened”
yo, I explained it to the Warlock above but you have to google what he’s talking about. They will probably ban people for posting data gathered from their API for third party use.
So what is it I’m supposed to google, CHARACTER WHO JUST STARTED POSTING ON THE FORUMS IN THIS VERY THREAD ENTIRELY IN DEFENSE OF DUIIN, AND IS SUSPICIOUSLY FROM THE SAME SERVER AS DUIIN?
