Truly I don’t understand why anyone thinks this a bad thing.
In SL ret was the least represented class in mythic+ and was reworked in DF that was admittedly over tuned in PVP but quickly corrected. Where did it land ret in DPS and representation? Mid Pack. So once again it wasn’t the favorable class to take in arenas over Holy and Mythic over Holy or even Prot. Today Ret STILL is not the favorable paladin spec for higher keys and arenas.
Also let’s address the fact that EH shamans and FDK win out for melee specs over ret paladins if the options are there. When Rogues get more love the ret choice will become even less so when you have a prot pally tank. The takes on this thread are insane.
Agreed. Which is why ret isn’t really on their radar when it comes to nerfs and buffs for the most part. It’s midpack and people who play it like it so they’re mostly happy. Blizzard got a win(kind of). We’re not the problem you think we are.

you have to be really into the aesthetic of being a pseudo christian zealot or your character resorting to alternative means to channel the light
Context is important to answer this.
It appears pve players are doing well with it?
Pvp wise the spec is just weird, nothing seems enjoyable to press, even Hammer of Light doesn’t do much if it doesn’t crit, the rest is lots of tiny numbers you’re basically a melee dot class, and some of those don’t even hit your target and are just cleave pad dmg.
You have many utility buttons but no meaningful offensive pressure.
It feels great in dungeons. Most of your abilities are cleave or AoE so it gets pretty crazy. Having wings and WoA every 30 seconds is bonkers. Ret is also pretty durable.

WoA every 30 seconds is indeed amazing. You can heal yourself with WoG if needed, although that is a DPS loss. But I use it quite a bit anyway so the healer can focus on the tank. I also do not do competitive content so I don’t care about DPS performance that much.
