Question -
From someone who loves to PvP but doesn’t necessarily have time to play 5+ hours a day, every day, for weeks…
Rank 12/13 for the epics is completely off the table for me. I feel rank 10 might be feasible, but is the gear even any good? A set of blues with decent set bonuses? (talking specifically about lock, at least).
I know rank 10 isn’t incredibly hard to get, but unless the gear set is actually really good for some reason that i can’t see, i don’t want to push myself to play an extra hour here and there if it doesn’t fit into real life.
I feel like the MC t1 set blows the rank 10 blues out of the water…am i missing anything?

Your shoulders are great. The set itself is still your best option while in battlegrounds or farming when worries of ganks are abound.
Other than warriors and hunters I don’t think rank 10 is actually better than MC/BWL for the majority of play though. Warriors have crap itemization outside of tank gear and hunter get the multi shot bonus on theirs. The real reason would just be to say you did it.

other than that rank 10 gear is going be pretty obsolete outside of a few set bonus and pieces that people will run.

the gear is decent but it is not worth that kind of time commitment. those blues can be replaced with less effort than it takes to get them

R10 shoulder/legs 2 peice bonus is really powerful for dps warriors.
According to the sim i have been running, that 2 peice is higher dps than running drake talon shoulders and fallen crusader legs, which are the best peices in BWL

and a long time commitment to get.
In p5 there are a lot of good options that come out, and you can always do the AB rep grind for shoulders or try to grab DTP.
That’s kinda my plan for now–craft titanic leggings ASAP and also try to get conquerors legs if we can down Ouro (we struggled as alliance to do this in 2005 so looking forward to another shot).
If you’re going to be playing that many BGs anyways, it is a very nice bonus. But rank 10 is a lot of time investment, both per-day and number of weeks.
Don’t go out of your way for it, but if you’re on track to get them anyways that is just a nice bonus.
OP didn’t ask that. Was asking if they were good and they are currently the best 2 peice set you can get. as warrior
I think for a warlock its pretty questionable. I’m not actually looking at the sets right now however warlock tier gear actually has a lot of stamina on it if I remember correctly, which is the most important thing in pvp. That being the case it doesn’t seem super valuable to grind for the lock gear at rank 10 assuming you can get t1 and t2.

Raiding actually takes less time than ranking. If you want rank 10 you will have to pvp every single day for 2-4 hours once you get to rank 7-8, which also means you will have to do that for at least 2-3 weeks straight out of the 4-8 weeks it’ll take to even get to rank 10. Unless you’re a ret paladin, feral druid, dps warrior or maybe S priest its just not worth it. You’re better off casually raiding 3-6 hours a week and getting better.

R10 is absolutely worth it. They are a symbol of pristine and status. A testiment to your willingness and dedication to achieve greatness through effort and hard work.
Rank 14 however is not worth it because symbolizes the possibility that you may have a problem.

I actually really like the r10 warrior set, i’m tempted to level my warrior and make a run at the set just for the looks, the stats on the set being good is just an added bonus.

The gear isn’t worth the extra 4-5 weeks of work. I got my R10 mainly to collect the set and title; not because I needed them. Most classes can just go straight to MC for a much better purple set. If you’re a warrior, then you’re probably just going to fund a lionheart. I would have done so too but I got a crown of destruction pretty early on and put my 20fr on it. I don’t feel the need to drop a pile of gold for another helmet I don’t really need.
