Well PvP isn’t out for the first stage and BG’s aren’t out for the second stage, so it’s probabaly worth PvEing to get some gear at the start. You also don’t get many good off peices or a weapon from PvP…

You can’t get gear in PvP the way you do in modern, or legion atleast. It takes a significant amount of time to get the blue set, and an unrealistic amount of time to get the epic set unless you’re unemployed…
So basically, at first it’s not a big deal, but as people gear up you will fall behind if you work, go to school, have a family, or don’t want to spend 13 hours a day in battlegrounds.
I never had pvp gear on my hunter in Vanilla. I just didn’t have that kind of time being military. So I raided with my guild. In Tier 2+ I felt pretty powerful in BGs, even against people in PvP epics. So I’d say it’s a great way to gear up if you can’t live your life in a video game.

I do have 24 hrs.
I plan to spend 16+ hrs a day in PvP. EPL phase one. Im getting Krol blade and am debating if its worth raiding to get Vis’keg and Bloodfang hood.
Maybe the time spent in raiding would be better PvP
Only doing PVP you will be missing out on the best Necks, Cloaks, Rings, Belts and Trinkets in the game.
It also assumes that you will get into high enough ranks to purchase a complete set of PVP armor, example Rank 10.
A player could get by being a PVP Warrior with Rank 10, The Unstoppable Force and the PVP reputation pieces. I know people who did and they had fun.
You will be less powerful than a Warrior who does both, but that is a personal choice that might make sense for your preference.
Whats the best trinket in the game? Ill have HOJ and the 2% crit. What would i replace the 2% crit with? Im obviously not replacing HOJ.

Pvp with early/easy pve is the way to go. Ony is cake, and definitely worth getting BF and Vis’Kag if you can. As is most of MC for rings and odd pieces. The blue pvp set and rep rewards are decent enough to hold up against T2 for most classes. T2 and other BWL gear is better if you can get it though. Rank 13 set beats out T2 usually for most classes, but not by much.
What odd pieces? The rank 10 blue set can hold up against T2? I don’t think so.

Trinkets aren’t set and forget in Classic in my opinion.

Devilsaur will work for a bit, but remember having Plate in Classic is meaningful. Warriors like myself stack a few sunders when fighting other high AC classes. You’ll be taking a lot more damage than I will in that scenario.

Nobody ever seems to mention wsg, ab & av rep gear. Which can be gotten (eventually) by even the most casual players. Some decent blue & epics too.

I think you would have a hard time getting into an organized PVP group without raiding and you’d have an even harder time getting rank 14 without being in an organized group.
