Twice a week is the best social aspect.
Getting together with the boys, drinking beer and downing bosses.
What a time to be alive.

Agreed, that’s why Retail just does not do it for me anymore and I’m really into the whole community aspect that I talk about a lot in my posts. I agree that raiding is social too and I fully understand that different people like different things, but if it wasn’t for this being an MMO I wouldn’t have kept playing it.
well you all sound like a fun bunch to play with, I only responded that pvp is not scripted to offer a n example of something ingame that is not scripted and an alternative to raiding endgame. why play if you dont like 90% of the game?? currently on my realm raiding is not a possibility nor grouping for dungeouns horde side. Oh yeah I know, join a guild or transfer.
pvp is so much more scripted here compared to other MMO’s pvp
Raid logging is a pretty healthy way to play this game tbh. A limited amount of structured play time. I envy the people disciplined enough to do that and only that.
Pvp is scripted.
the only fun part of the game for many people are the raids. It’s nice just logging on twice a week to chill with the homies on discord and murder some bosses, then go do other stuff outside the game for the rest of the week. I can’t imagine playing wow more than that.
Different strokes for different folks.
Raid loggers for me have zero investment. There like that irritating friend no one really likes but just keeps coming around anyways.
I mean raid logging becomes a point because there is just nothing to do.
The people raid logging SSC/TK are prolly full bis outside of what tk/SSC drops, they have already put in the work.
Half my guild is playing new world now, we still down bosses every tues/wed.
Well I’m busy helping new people do things ( cause the raid loggers can’tbe assed to help anyone ), getting alts leveled up and just chilling. If raiding was all WoW offered me I’d just move to a new game.
We have already all done that.
We did it with our mains and then we did it with alts.
I have 3 level 70s.
Now I mostly raid log.
And I couldn’t be happier
Raiding is the game.
Some people continue to fail to realize this though. Even blizzard fails to realize it and as a result SOM is going to be DOA. The moment you make raids inaccessible or turn them into a chore is when you start losing a big portion of your player base.
im not faulting raiding in general or putting those down that enjoy it. Im just wondering how this model can support a healthy game community,
Well I have way more than 3 alts but I spend most of my time doing stuff for other people. Raiding alone isn’t woth 15 bucks to me.
getting to max lvl is not hard nor does it take skill…its just a grind. pfft you don’t sound happy you sound elitist.
It can’t, that’s why you see so many threads with people complaining about dead servers and not being able to find groups.
The nature of how and why people play MMO’s has changed over the years. The playerbase and developers have made them into something you play to beat rather than just a fun way to hang out and have a good time.
I’m not mad at anyone for that, just don’t see the value in it.
When did I say it was “hard” to level?
Stop putting words in my mouth, I was merely saying that I have done the leveling side a few times, I have helped people like he has multiple times.
Raid logging is fun for me now because I get to do other things and I get to hand out with the guild every tues and Wednesday and we get to raid have the laughs and down bosses.
Op has a hard time understanding hobbies I suppose.
I play as much or as little as I want, then I do other things with my time. It’s as simple as that.
I don’t work for blizzard. Why should I feel obligated to play more when I don’t want to, for the “health of the game” as you put it?
Yes, it’s amazing. Games are meant to be a hobby not a job. TBC raid logging is great. I get do do other things during the week and have 2 raid nights with my guild to hang out and down some bosses.
I’d rather this style than what retail has turned into.
How dare you have a 6-8 hour a week hobby with friends!!
It should be 40+ hours a week!!!
